Big blow for Canada. He is an absolute goal scoring machine and I think perfectly suited to play on the big ice with his blazing speed and cannon of a shot. If you were Yzerman who would you get to replace him?

I would probably go with Giroux.

Huge blow for Canada as he probably would've been Canada's leading goal scorer in the tourney.

I think Giroux, Staal, Skinner, Seguin, Hall, or St. Louis could be named to replace him.

My guess is that it comes down to Giroux and Staal with Staal having the slight advantage due to his prior Olympic experience.

Haha I saw the rooms. Quite a bit different from luxury hotels for these guys. Maybe Staal as he did end up playing with Crosby in Vancouver but I think Giroux is faster and that will be the deciding factor.

Yeah it had to be. Probably all the other guys like Charelli, Lowe and Holland didn't want to put Yzerman through that again. Either way he's still a heck of a player playing with a chip on his shoulder.
