Green Bay - The Green Bay Packers were willing to expend a middle-round draft choice on Georgia Tech running back Tony Hollings in the National Football League supplemental draft Thursday but he was awarded instead to Houston when the Texans took him in the second round.

Hollings, 5 feet 10 1/2 inches and 216 pounds, entered the supplemental draft after being declared academically ineligible for the 2003 season. He led the nation in rushing yards (633) and touchdowns (11) after four games last season before suffering a torn knee ligament and torn cartilage.
The two scouting combines had rated Hollings among the top 10 prospects regardless of position available for the '04 draft.
The Packers were among 20 teams that attended Hollings' workout last Tuesday. The Packers, Texas, Dallas Cowboys and Chicago Bears reportedly were the teams most interested in him.
