All: The new Billszone site with the updated software is scheduled to be turned on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. The company that built it, Dynascale, estimates a FOUR HOUR shut down, from 8pm Pacific, (5pm Eastern) while they get it up and running. Nobody will be able to post in any forum until they are done. Afterwards, you may need to do a web search for the site, as old links will not work, because the site is getting a new IP address. Please be patient. If there are bugs, we will tackle them one at a time. Remember the goal is to be up and running with no glitches by camp. Doing this now assures us of that, because it gives us all summer to get our ducks in a row. Thank you!
The NFL will not confirm 2014 NFL Draft compensatory picks until late next month, but Philly.com took a stab at projecting those picks, and things don't look like they'll work in favor of the Buffalo Bills.
Buffalo found themselves without the services of a lot of notable names in 2013 from their 2012 team, but cut players - Ryan Fitzpatrick chief among them - do not apply to the compensatory pick formula. Therefore, as the Philly.com article points out, they lost two players (Andy Levitre to Tennessee and Chad Rinehart to San Diego) and signed two themselves (Alan Branch and Manny Lawson).
A third notable Bills free agent signing, Kevin Kolb, also does not qualify for the formula because he missed the season with an injury. The projected "net value" seventh-round pick comes into play because Levitre's contract far outweighed those signed by Branch and Lawson (and Rinehart, for that matter).
