it's how ESPN has fallen behind everyone else! Sabres.com announced this YESTERDAY, also Ruh and Varone was sent to Rochester because the Sabres want them playing through the NHL Olympic break not just sitting around

The Buffalo Sabres announced Friday that the two players had been assigned to the Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League. They’ll continue to eat up ice time in the AHL while the NHL takes a two-week hiatus because of the Winter Olympics. The team also announced that forward Linus Omark (http://sabres.nhl.com/club/m_player.htm?id=8474059), who was acquired in a trade with the Edmonton Oilers for a conditional sixth-round pick in December, was placed on waivers. If Omark clears by noon Saturday, the Sabres could assign him to Rochester or they could keep him on the NHL roster.

they took a gamble on omark and it hasnt paid off, tho fourteen games seems a little short of an audition. but now he goes to roch and might still be able to become something. kinda feel bad for the guy, he says all the right things, like his attitude. even if some of that just rubs off on the farm he could still be a decent add organizationally. what did they spend, a sixth rounder or something?

Unless Omark suits up in two more NHL games this year, the Sabres keep their 6th round pick (from what I understand)

I heard a clip of him on the radio basically saying he doesn't think he needs to play better without the puck and that the coach hasn't told him anything like that either. Made me think this would happen.

the thing about omark is, he has produced at the NHL level before. i didnt expect omark to get 115 points or something. but i hoped for some production.
