Art Modell will be attending his 43rd NFL training camp when the Baltimore Ravens report to Westminster, Md., on July 27. It also will be his last camp as the majority owner of the franchise, and he would like nothing better than to go hoisting a second Super Bowl trophy on Feb. 1, something he believes is definitely possible.

"I don't know how much progress the competition has made," Modell said earlier this week, "but this is a better team than the one that won the Super Bowl [after the 2000 season]. We got better, stronger, and we've improved at several key positions. The whole thing is coming together, and we're going to be heard from. I've never said anything like this in 43 years. It's not a prediction; it's a feeling."

All around the NFL, mid-July is a time for instinctive feelings, great hopes and grand dreams. Now is the chance to project that newly acquired quarterback as the savior of the franchise, that rookie back as a 1,200-yard runner, that aging veteran receiver as capable of 80 catches. MORE....
