I wonder what his plan is..Don't make much sense to me.
One of the NHL teams that you probably thought would be one of the busier teams when it comes to trade negotiations during the NHL’s Olympic Break apparently is not.
I don’t know why Murray would not be talking to other General Mangers during this time but obviously he feels it’s the right thing to do. If he is not careful, it could come back to bite him. That would be bad for a team like Buffalo.
Steve Ott (http://www.hockey-reference.com/players/o/ottst01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&utm_source=direct&utm_medium=linker-fansided.com), Matt Moulson (http://www.hockey-reference.com/players/m/moulsma01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&utm_source=direct&utm_medium=linker-fansided.com), Henrik Tallinder (http://www.hockey-reference.com/players/t/tallihe01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&utm_source=direct&utm_medium=linker-fansided.com) and Ryan Miller (http://www.hockey-reference.com/players/m/millery01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&utm_source=direct&utm_medium=linker-fansided.com) have all been involved in trade rumors the past few weeks. Sure, new Sabres General Manager Tim Murray wants to get the most for his players but I’m pretty sure a Tallinder deal could be made in the next week. You’re not going to be getting much for him.
The other three might make sense to hold onto until deadline, but only to a point. You don’t hold out for a better deal, it never coming and then going back to another team to find that they’ve moved on. There is a risk by doing that. In Miller’s case, the Sabres would be losing him for nothing on July 1.
