If you're gonna bring a finesse game, you'd better be able to hit a damned pass. USA couldn't run set plays because they couldn't hit a moving player with the puck. We were left just blindly throwing pucks to an area and hoping our guy gets there first. But you'd better be sending numbers forward, we weren't even doing that. When it was like 3-4 minutes left and both Canadian defensemen were standing in front of their own goal with NO ONE to defend, I knew we were done.

I had that exact thought when I was watching it. It looked like the 2007 Sabres against the Rangers and Senators. The difference being that Drury was around to steal game five in the New York series.

Just a few short minutes ago I was holding a 1948 olympic hockey gold medal in my hand. The last time canada won 2 back to back was 48 and 52. Very neat holding that. A friends father played and a couple other local boys were on that team also.
