DraftBoy did some of these last year, but I'm going to jump the gun and throw one out there now, considering the conversation has heated up a little bit with the combine happening.

1-Houston = Jadaveon Clowney, DE
2-St Louis = Jake Matthews, OT
3-Jacksonville = Blake Bortles, QB
4-Cleveland = Johnny Manziel, QB
5-Oakland = Sammy Watkins, WR
6-Atlanta = Greg Robinson, OT
7-Tampa Bay = Kalil Mack, LB
8-Minnesota = Taylor Lewan, OT
9-Buffalo = ???????????

Who do you take?

But if it was the Bills I'd imagine they trade down. Which might not be so bad, they'd probably get crazy value.

What?? How could you pass up a 6'2-228 pound line backer with a bum shoulder, bum hip, and bad elbow..

Why do you always continue to try and push this, as false as it is ? The Bills have used their 1st pick on a CB 2 times in the last 13 years and those 2 picks are the starting CB's for the Bills, including the pick from 6 years ago. Plus if you look at the other 3 DB's the Bills used their 1st pick to get in the last 20 years, Whitner, Clements and Winfield, they've all had pretty successful careers. With todays offenses relying so much on the passing game, isn't it smart to have good DB's ?
Every time you post this nonsense, I just have to laugh at how foolish and uninformed you look.

I am willing to be patient with EJ but I agree Teddy would have the greatest value.

If all 3 OTs are off the board, that would be the absolute worse case scenario.

What have we done in free agency? If nothing and as thing stand today, I take Mosely. He might not be a glamor pick but he would have the most impact as a rookie as things stand.

I wonder about the premise. Didn't the Vikes just take a LT who is playing well?

I guess Barr, Mosely, Evans or Ebron could all be good.

I'd like to see the Bills focus on upgrading the offense, but with the top 3 OTs gone and no Watkins, I would take Barr. I've heard that this draft is deep for OT's and WR's, so there should still be some good options in the 2nd and 3rd.

He's only 6'2 228.

LaVonte David measures in at 6'1 233 and he's an outstanding WLB for the Bucaneers.

The Bills need to be able to stop the run, I don't see a 6'2 228 pound guy doing that...I see a Maybin 2.0 in Mosley. Can't gamble the 9th pick on him.

WEAKNESSES

Has a narrow build. Has been slowed by elbow, hip and shoulder injuries throughout his career and long-term durability will require thorough inspection by medical examiners. Gets hung up on the blitz (shoulder stiffness) and must learn how to use more finesse picking a side instead of relying on bull power and striking blockers down the middle. Can learn to do a better job shooting his hands to shock defenders and disengage from blocks. Could be challenged matching up down the field with his back to the ball vs. flex TEs in the slot (man coverage). Could stand to become a more vocal leader.

I had to fudge it a little bit to get the top 3 OT's off of the board...pretty sure myself that the Vikings won't go OT and one of the top 3 will be there at 9.

I think the general consensus at the moment is OT, but wanted to see who everybody would take if the pick wasn't a no-brainer.

Inside or outside? Moseley? Barr? Someone else?To be honest I think we will have Watkins and Mack available to us when the clock starts. That will be a very tough decision. I think a QB will be avail to Tampa at 7 and they take him. If both are gone I'd take Moseley.

I don't think Mack makes it past Tampa or Atlanta. IMO, those are the two teams that will most determine who will be available, that we might want. Tampa is going to go LBer or WR, and Atlanta could go LBer or OT. We're going to get to pick who they pass on.

Tampa could take any of the three LB available if Oakland gets the QB. I think there's a good chance we are staring at both Mack and Watkins. The raiders have so many needs, they will make the top 10 interesting.

Oakland is always a wild card when drafting. Watkins and Mack seem the most realistic but they might end taking an OT as not sure Vedheer is a true game changing OT. That said if Bridgewater does past Oakland or Tampa if he does fall and based on him being a no show on the combine coupled with his fall from stardom as the year progressed reminds me a little of Geno Smith from last year. Right now we might have a pick of Lewan, Mosley, Ebron, Evans and possibly Barr. I ranked them in order how I like them. I know people are going to crave Barr but with us manning a 4-3 front not sure Barr a great fit but it be tragic if pass on him and see the Jets take him but if get a great Lewan to protect EJ it might be worth it.

Mark my words. If we pass on Ebron there will be talk for the next 10 years on how we missed out on such a great talent. He is the real deal. Way more value than Evans IMO

I don't want the Bills to take a TE with the 9th pick.

But, If they had to choose between Evans and Ebron, It's Ebron hands down..

Anthony Barr is a no-brainer pick in this scenario.

I'm on board with most here in this thread.

Mack will undoubtedly be off the board by the time Buffalo's pick comes around or I'd say him. Choice of preference (assuming what I just said):

1. Ebron
2. Evans/Benjamin
3. Mosley/Barr

Ideally I would love to see Ebron in the first and Allen Robinson in the 2nd--I think he'll drop out of the first round and he's got the size/vert/hands to be a playmaker at the next level. Our offense would be nasty, if only we had a quasi-decent QB.......................

Expecting rookies to perform like veterans is a costly mistake when making expectations for the season.

Bill Cody
02-25-2014, 10:14 AM
and hell no to Bridgewater...just say NO. I'd rather have a QB with, how should I say this..........a lighter complexion

what?

Bill Cody

I meant to say a QB who can read a defense. My bad. He gets points for not being a Big 12 Qb, though--all of those are historically garbage

hmmm... ok so how does his complexion shade help with that? This board depresses me.
