Franchise and Transition Tag amounts set, affects a couple of Bills

The NFL came out with the official Franchise and Transition tag amounts, and it will affect a couple of Bills.

First, if (or when) the Bills Franchise Jarius Byrd, the tender will be for $8.433M in 2014.

Second, the Transition tag sets the value for the 5th-year option built into the contract of all the top-10 picks from the 2011 draft. Thus, if (when) the Bills exercise the 2015 option in Marcel Dareus' contract his cap number will be $8.1M for that season. His cap number for 2014 is $6,493,232, so one would think the Bills will look into a contract extension for Dareus based off those numbers.

BTW, for those thinking the Bills would think of using the Transition tag on Carpenter and the Franchise on Byrd (or visa-versa), that isn't possible. You can only use one tag (Franchise or Transition), not both.
