Byrd Says Report of Offer of $30M in 1st 3 Years is BS

Jairus Byrd did a media blitz today on ESPN including a chat session and several interviews. He said he's excited for free agency but has not closed the door on possibly re-signing with the Bills. He said the lines of communication remain open and each side knows where they stand. He added there is no bad blood and everything has been professional and pleasant. He said he spoke to Russ Brandon and Doug Whaley a couple of days ago. He also said don't believe everything you hear when asked about the reported $30 Million in the first three years of a supposed offer by the Bills.

Homers, this is where you get to tell us all that Byrd is a liar and once again the Bills management must be trusted.

Did you really think he'd admit to it?

His response would be different than to straight up deny it.

30 million guaranteed if you can walk on your feet in preseason. They put this crazy language in that contract, man.

If they offered him that, they would have happily tagged him again.

$10/year gets shot down? Fine we'll take you for $8 and change for one.

It's a shame that Russ Brandon would never do what Pat Lafontaine did..

That particular agent is the problem here.

Two sides to every story, the truth usually lies somewhere in the middle.

The Bills never stated that... It was reported or tweeted. But my guess is that the guaranteed money was $23M.

players come and go and have had byrds issue with the same management staff. so is it that a lot of players are *******s and not treating management right or is the same management team screwing up time and time again. which is easier to believe?

If other teams know the 30 million over 3 was a non-starter that may limit who can get involved in the bidding and the more teams interested the better it is for him.

Everything you hear from either side is part of the business and as Yard said the truth is someplace in the middle. If you love Byrd and hate the FO you will side with the player and if you hate Byrd you'll side with the team.

                        It's pretty simple really.

unless as has been reported byrd told them his plantar bullѕhititis was sure to flare up the first ten games if he was tagged thus wasting a roster spot that whole time

The Bills front office obviously knows what it is doing . . .

No not really. Unless you can tell me what they actually did offer. Can you? Who said 3 and 30 anyway? Was that speculation by a "source close to the negotiations"? Or if the Bills offered 3 and 29 does that mean Byrd's telling the truth and we should all dump on management? This is the silly season.

Crazy thought: maybe it's time for the Byrd lickers and the Bills haters to put down their agendas and be honest. You have no reliable knowledge of the negotiations. None. Admit that and you'll feel better. Really.
