    Carpenter resigned!

    Tis true!
I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?"
"Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet.
You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times."
    It was all
true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach.
He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can
mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.

We was excellent last year. Just drilled those kicks. Smart

Below average on Kickoffs but that's secondary

Because he was the supposed best kicker in the draft...and he still might turn out to be a good one.

But Dan Carpenter wasn't even a Bill until September of last year.

THREE different teams cut Carpenter from mid-to-late August last summer:

The Dolphins cut him on August 14th.
Then the Cardinals signed him a week later. They cut him only 4 days later on August 25th.
Then he was signed by the Jets two days after that. The Jets released him on August 31st, again after only 4 days.

The Bills didn't sign Carpenter until September 3rd.

Kickers get a bad rap, but they actually put more points on the board than anybody. THAT'S why the Bills drafted Dustin Hopkins. They wanted him.

A low draft pick, that would have otherwise been cut.
