Bills blame blizzard for slow start to free-agent signings

    Yup.......

any NFL fan knows, there was a frenzy of free-agent signings on Tuesday. One of the few teams that did not ink a new player was the Buffalo Bills.
The team re-signed tight end Mike Caussin and kicker Dan Carpenter, but they did not bring any outside players.
However, that was not Buffalo's plan. The reason the team was quiet on Tuesday (they signed offensive lineman Chris Williams on Wednesday) was because of a blizzard that hit Buffalo.
General Manager Doug Whaley issued the following statement Wednesday morning:
"Today's storm challenged us in terms of getting free agents in-and-out because teams like to get them in as soon as possible. It's important to have plans for all scenarios. Today, we were prepared in dealing with this storm.
We're excited about this start to free agency and our plans moving forward. With the signing of Chris Williams, I am particularly excited about the direction our offensive line is moving in because we wanted to address this position and we feel like we filled the need with a very good player."

      Same weather hit Cleveland today.

Brandon Tate is there right now and it didn't stop Dansby, Whitner and Trufant from signing.

Can you get any more bush league than blaming the weather? It was a beautiful day yesterday.

Global Warming causes blizzards and prevents playoffs.

What I wouldn't give for a team official to come out and blame global warming.

It's the NFL conspiracy against the Bills. They made sure only the Bills couldn't have free agents visit because of the weather.

You are behind the times. It's now trendy to blame climate change.

I better tell Jerry Jones, he's still blaming Chan Gailey and Dave Campo.

Where in that statement does it blame the storm for not bringing in a free agent? I guess that is just how people want to interpret it, but it says nothing of the sort.

Losers make excuses. Winners do not.

                          The Bills are losers.
The last time the Bills made the playoffs was 1999.

I don't see it. It says it challenged them getting people in and out. It doesnt say they couldnt bring in people. They brought in Chris Williams today and it was likely a challenge due to cancelled flights. People are reaching.
