    Steve Smith

Let go by the Panthers reportedly.

I just wonder if we could use a guy like this in the slot. He wants to play there. We supposedly were interested in Edleman and Tate who seem to fit there.

No idea what he might get at 34 years old. But our WR corp is very green outside of Stevie. And if it wasn't a huge deal I'm not sure I would mind it.

Could the Bills be in play for him?

I doubt it as remember last offseason there was major talk of moving Stevie to the slot and he'd be great etc? I do and I haven't seen any reports shown we had any true interest in Tate or Edelman except on that bogus site that was posted a few days ago. I stated it in that very thread Smith lacks the size we supposedly been looking for at the position and the guy has lost a step so can't see us signing him. Yet someone brought up the point he could go the Patrots, now that's a scary thought.

Steve Smith's playing days in Carolina are over, ending the 13-year veteran's tenure as a Panther, his agent confirmed Wednesday. Per Ian Rapoport, one particular team could be interested in Smith if released.

Well if they lose LaFell it sounds like the Panthers will need a WR come draft day, I wonder if they'd be interested in trading up to get Evans with us? or better yet maybe we can trade TJ Graham to them.

I'm not too sure we'd want to try a new 34 year old slot receiver rumored to be a locker room concern. He's kind of wee at 5'9 and 185lbs, and 34 and showing some wear.

In any case, I think he's going to try and cap his career with a contender if he has to settle for less money, and there's probably a couple who can use him. I don't think he'd be too interested in coming to a rebuilding cold weather team with dubious quarterbacking at this point.

Why would a WR want to come to the bills with the unproven QB position!

Since when is Steve Smith a locker room cancer?

He'll probably ring chase until he retires which means we have no chance.

Pffft...Smith has made bank, now he'll want bling. You could throw all $70 million of cap space at him and there's no way he would want to come here.

Fiery, established veteran receiver, younger QB working on his own identity, leadership and chemistry with his targets. Sounds familiar.

Bills wide receiver Stevie Johnson had a rough 2013 season as he missed four games and failed to reach 1,000 receiving yards for the first time since 2009.

I wouldn't call him a locker room cancer though.

He'll be a Patriot. Seems like one of their FA signings.

You must be confusing the Bills with the Mets.
