Whaley: Alonso to Will, Rivers to Sam

“That right now is the plan,” Whaley said, via Mike Rodak of ESPN.com. “We’re going to move him outside. Have Keith Rivers on the other outside [spot].

    Alonso can probably excel wherever.

Not thrilled with the idea of Rivers as a starter.

Between Rivers and Aaron Curry I'm not which former stud LB was a biggest disappointment.

I watch NFL Sundays with a Bengals fan, so I see both games most weeks.

      Rivers was

Didn't follow him in NYG but it doesn't sound like he inspired any confidence there either.

Hate to say " Called it " . but posted this for several months.

Kiko is playing in the high 230's and takes a pounding. His game is speed and clear closing lanes, which he will get outside. This SHOULD be his position. Love the kids passion and it's never a question that he plays out of his mind every snap.

        Now load it up inside...

So with Kiko, Rivers, and potentially Spikes in the middle... Im guessing this means we dont draft Mack (doubtful he falls to us), Starr or Mosely with our first pick

I haven't heard anyone mention what this means for Lawson? He played well last year.

I think the scheme is being overstated. We will be multiple. Lawson will play a lot in 3-4 looks and or pass rush downs.

If anything it means we're even stronger in multiple schemes.

In his time with CIN, Lawson was good at stringing out and tackling on wide runs. He was pretty decent on the pass rush, and so-so on coverage. But it's a rare LB that is beyond so-so under today's pass-happy rules.
