Re: Shaub sold to OAK for a 6th round pick
Trading for Schaub means that Oakland takes over his contract, and they owe him $11 million this year. That will escalate over the next couple of years as well, but I think they can release him without penalty.
I used to like Schaub better than I do now. I just don't see a future with him anymore. We already have our prospect, who hasn't failed enough to not be our prospect yet...or so the way of thinking probably goes.

Re: Shaub sold to OAK for a 6th round pick
yeah whytf wouldnt he be the starter. shaub has been very good for long stretches of his career. the five years previous to last year he averaged a near spectacular qb rating of 94
im pretty surprised the texans gave up on him so easily. he will be 33 when the season starts, which is too young for a pocket qb to hit the wall. unless something has gone seriously wrong in his life, it seems more likely he more hes gonna rebound than flounder. the raiders are probably going to come out looking smart hereOne set of rules for all in the beloved community

I think it's a good move for Oakland. Especially, if they use him to develop a QB on the bench.
