Dennis Johnson is listed as the Houston Texans starting running back.

http://www.houstontexans.com/team/depth-chart.html

He is 5'7 193 lbs, ran for 183 yards in 8 games played and scored 0 touchdowns in 2013.

Houston desperately needs a running back.

The Texans also need a quarterback too, and drafting Texas A&M's Johnny Manziel in the first round would please a lot of Texans fans.

But what if Houston isn't sold on Manziel and think Aaron Murray is the better long term prospect instead?

If the Bills swapped first round picks, gave Houston CJ Spiller, and traded a 2nd round draft pick in 2015 to move up I'd be all in on that.

I wouldn't give up any 1st round picks if the Bills trade Spiller; he is the first round pick.

Contrary to what most people are thinking, I think the Bills really want Jadeveon Clowney, not Johnny Manziel.

Clowney is the best defensive end coming out of college since Bruce Smith.

Draft JC first, a big wide receiver in the 2nd, a tackle in the third, and 2 guards in the 4th and 5th rounds.

I think EJ Manuel in his sophomore year will be a better quarterback than Johnny football in his rookie season.

EJ Manuel was 4-5 last year as a starter. He was two fumbles from Johnson and Chandler away in Toronto from being 5-4 as a rookie. That game against the Falcons was his first game back after his mistake by the lake in Cleveland.

5-4 for a rookie quarterback is pretty damn good, especially given the fact that he did not step in to an established offense, he stepped into an entirely new system with a new coach, new OC, and he was coming off of an injury to his knee in the preseason.

Troy Aikman won 1 game his rookie season. I think the Bills are better at QB than we give EJ Manuel credit for.

Seattle's defense was dominant last year, Wilson didn't win the Super Bowl with his arm.

The New York Giants defeated the Patriots twice in the Super Bowl with...defense.

The Pittsburgh Steelers won 2 Super Bowls in the last decade with...defense.

The Baltimore Ravens wons 2 Super Bowls with....D#

Trade CJ to the Texans, swap 1st round picks, and give up a #2 in 2015 for the #1 pick this year?

What say you?

Hot rumor - CIN's Giovanni Bernard for HOU's #1. :boozer:

I would trade Spiller under that scenario. We damn well better get a RB in the third or fourth round also, though.

That depth chart is obviously out of date. Schaub is still on it. And the Texans have a #1 back - Foster.

They have Arian Foster.

RB are at an all-time low in terms of value in today's NFL. They are rarely drafted in the 1st and the guys in FA have made K money. Spiller just doesn't have the value you think.

CJ Spiller and next year's 2nd round pick is not nearly enough to move up to #1 overall. You would need this year's 2nd and next year's 1st even with Spiller.

We damn well better get a RB in the third or fourth round also, though.Yeah, if Buffalo makes that trade, they have to come out of the draft with a good running back. Without Spiller, they have a 33 year old running back and a short yardage specialist. Even if the NFL has moved away from the RB being the backbone of the offense, that is a recipe for disaster.

There are many inaccuracies in this post.

Besides the fact that Houston has Arian Foster, the fact is the Falcon game was NOT EJ's first game back since his cleveland injury. He played (very poorly) against the Steelers, had a bounce back game vs the jets, followed by that falcon game disaster.

And I wouldn't say the Ravens won the last superbowl with defense. Check out the scores of their games; mainly the 38-35 bronco game and most importantly the 34-31 superbowl game where they allowed nearly 500 yards of offense, including 182 on the ground

I would trade Spiller for 2nd round pick. We will never be offered a 2nd round pick however.

Foster is all but done. A lot of wear and tear the last 4 years, CJ would make sense as a 1-2 punch, but I don't see a team jumping from 1st to 9th.Rookie wage scale or not, that's a king's ransom to move up that far.Honestly it would have to be something like #9, CJ, EJ, two 2nd rounders and a couple of 4th rounders. Also, Johnny Football would have to be the pick. The while thing is wayyyyyy out there though.

So, let me get this straight:

Right now, the Bills' biggest strength is the pass rush.

You're advocating turning RB into yet another hole to bolster perhaps the only portion of our team that's actually among the best in the NFL.

****, I hope we somehow end up with Clowney too, but not at the expense of Spiller. He's a pipe dream.

i like the bills trying to make the DL as deep and talented as possible. but freddie jackson is running on borrowed time. To rely on him soley is not a good idea. i still don't think we have a line impressive enough to be one of those teams that just plugs in running backs willy nilly and get results. we have a decent run game because our backs are excellent. until we spend time on developing the OL, it's important that we keep Spiller.

why do people post stupidity

It would be consistent with the Bills past practice to trade Spiller for a 4th round pick, then use a first rounder on a RB.

Houston has Arian Foster.. why are we even discussing this? its the stupidest thing ive read in months.

----------------------------------

Arian Foster turns 28 years old in August and is coming off back surgery after a 2013 year plagued with injuries.

http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/2013/11/28/5154696/arian-foster-injury-texans-back-surgery

Houston has Arian Foster...and his bad back.

So what?

Texans are in major rebuilding mode with a new coaching staff in 2014.

What is Bill O'Brien going to do?

Draft a quarterback number 1 this year and build his entire team around that 1 pick, or stockpile draft picks for 2015?

Keep in mind there is no CLEAR overall #1 QB in this draft. From Blake Bortles to Johnny Manziel, nobody knows.

O'Brien has the luxury of trading the # 1 pick and not locking himself into a QB he's not sure of.

The Texans need a running back. The Bills have to draft a running back.

C.J. Spiller did not seem to fit in to Hackett's offense last year. I don't think he is the style of back Marrone and Hackett want.

Over the past few years, Spiller really seems to get, 'dinged up,' a lot...always playing with some kind of injury that makes him want to bounce outside instead of running north and south taking the big hits.

Sorry, I totally screwed up EJ's, "first game back," from injury but I don't think it's ******ed to trade CJ Spiller in a package deal to move up to the number 1 spot in order to draft a player like Jadeveon Clowney.

How about the Texans and Bills swapping picks, Bills give up a #1 in 2015, and trade CJ Spiller.

I really, really, really want the Bills to draft Jadeveon Clowney #1!

Sorry!

Spiller has been nothing special.
If they can get something for him I'd dump him in a heartbeat.

I would not want to trade two #1's & CJ to draft Clowney. He is NOT Bruce Smith.
