THIS WAS THE NHL'S CHANCE TO COME OUT AND REALLY CRACK DOWN ON THE ONE RULE THAT THEY HAVE BEEN SAYING THAT THEY WERE GOING TO CRACK DOWN ON ... AND ONCE AGAIN THE NHL FAILED! :blowup:

This is not as bad but reminds me of the Rafi Torres hit on Hossa. Both victims were defenseless. Both attackers left their feet with the intent to injure and led with elbow/shoulder. This is what happens when you play for Buffalo and is not a star player. Only difference is Torres made more contact and Hossa's head was turned. That is not a difference of 21 games. NHL should be embarrassed for their inconsistency.

That hit deserved 15-20 games.

I hate the NHL's discipline policy.

I've seen much more debatable hits get worse suspensions.

Really? I think this is in line with everything else the past two seasons. It's "fair" in that I think it's consistent with league policy and practice.

It just shouldn't be.
