If we're going to trade down, the main goal is to find a team with the hardest schedule & get their first next year. Another epic collapse like Houston had this past season could yield huge gold in 2015, imagine getting the first pick through a trade down ??

Strength of schedule is nit-picking. If you can find a decent partner, you dance.YardRat Wall of Fame

i think it's a good point if you've got multiple people asking to get your pick. but to have it be a criteria of if you trade or not doesn't make sense. best offer also should take that into account.

from season to season results change. You can't predict who will be drafting top 10 etc next season (with a few exceptions every year). You take the most you can get NOW in a trade down scenario

Hard to find a team who wants to trade up in the first place, now you want to try to impose certain parameters?
Did you just get out of your weekly electroshock treatment?

Last year, the Rams moved up 8 spots for the Bills #8 pick, which is more valuable than where they pick this year. All the Bills really got was a 2nd and 7th round pick, and they also swapped 3rd round picks...so the Bills had a WORSE pick in the third round.
Any trade down is more than likely to involve the Bills getting picks THIS year.

The only way this would make sense is if we had multiple offers of roughly equivalent value to pick from. I can't imagine a bidding war starting over the #9 pick unless some really weird stuff happens above us. Like YardRat said, it's nit picking.

in order to know which is hardest you'd need to be able to rank the teams now. Can anyone do that after the top hand full before the season? No. If you can, my advice is don't waste time on a message board start your own sports betting business and clean house.
Even if you could predict the next Houston (by the way did YOU predict Houston would tank? Did anyone?) they'd have to want to trade up and give up next year's first. That in itself is a tall order and basically never happens unless the target is a QB. If Johnny Football dropped to 9 you might see some bidding on our pick but even then it's not too likely. What's a lot more feasible is a top OT is there and we trade down 5 or 6 spots for an extra 2nd. If that offer is there, I'm in.
