    Doug Marrone has cancer?

There was a brief article on buffalobills.com earlier that's been taken down. Tim Graham also mentioned it?

It's incredibly bizarre. Is Anna Stolzenberg a Bills reporter? I honestly get all of my Bills news from billszone.com so I wouldn't know if she is or not.

Just saw the same thing on PFT.

In an unusual development that the team has not yet explained, the Bills website posted on Tuesday an article with the following headline: "Coach Marrone announces he has cancer."

      I wonder whats up?

#Bills Head Coach Doug Marrone says he had a cancerous mole found on his skin. It has been removed. Won't effect ability to coach team.

I saw this on Deadspin. I think the fact/problem that the article was accidentally leaked, and 'going after the guilty party' should take a backseat to concern for the coach and his well-being. The article said it's highly treatable, and Marrone seems to be a healthy, energetic guy, but man... the HOF owner passes, the HOF ex-QB has cancer, and now the HC has cancer - how many hits like this can a team take in one off season?

I have never had skin cancer but I have had several moles removed and my mother had something similar to marrone when she was a teenager. In other words he will be fine and will just have to wear more sun block.

That being said cancer is. Or something to mess with and had this not been caught early it could have spread and kill him. In other words go see a dermatologist once a year folks.

Buffalo Bills coach Doug Marrone had a cancerous mole removed from his skin, the team announced late Tuesday night.

Marrone said in a statement that the "extraction procedure" would not affect his ability to coach the team.

"During a recent doctor's visit, it was discovered that I had a cancerous mole on my skin, which has since been removed," Marrone's statement read. "The only follow up required is to have my moles checked every 3 months and that basically is the end of the story. The recent extraction procedure will have no effect on my ability to coach the team moving forward."

Yeah..earlier...bb.com had the headline but not the article.

In any event, it sounds like he's ok.

You don't mess with any cancer, I hope he's good now.

My wife just went through this scare. Skin cancer is relatively low on the cancer scale but still quite scary. Hopefully he does what he is able to take care of it and remain cancer free.

People should learn not to panic, particularly in an age where "information" gets out on Twitter, Facebook, blogs, emails and other instantaneous media, seemingly before it actually happens - or can be verified.
Should have known, way back in 1960 when we drafted Richie Lucas Number 1, that this would be a long, hard ride. But who could have known it would be THIS bad?
