Hm - idk. Watkins, to me, isnt a Julio Jones, an AJ Green, a Calvin...hes a step below that. I think we have too many needs to trade our 2nd.

We could use a boost at WR, but we spent a 2nd on Woods last year and he looked good, plus we got Mike Williams.

I just don't see this team using the resources to move up 4 picks for a WR.

I think Pettine just gives us their 1st pick and nothing in return in gratitude for Marrone helping him get the browns job.

mock's that predict a bunch of trades are even more worthless than the regular ones

I'll remind you. While Pat is a nice guy he's basically one of us. I don't see Cleveland trading if all three QB prospects are there.

I would probably like to know how Hairston's recovery is doing prior to this though - as a backup plan in case there are no good starting RTs left by the 3rd.

But this would answer the question of whether EJ is our QB or not. With a WR corps of: Watkins, Woods/Williams and Stevie on the slot - with Goodwin being our 4th WR in spread out formations and CJ/FJ as our back taking pressure off him, he'd have all the weapons he needs - provided the Oline can be reinforced a bit. If Hairston is looking good, I'd grab best Guard in the 3rd and solidify the Oline more. Then go BPA afterward.

It'd be an interesting scenario if it played out...

Dennard over Gilbert I think not

Yeah I just saw this over there. It's not happening this way. The Bills just drafted 2 young WRs last year that still have tremendous upside. Furthermore I don't think Watkins makes it out of the top 3 picks.

Who's Pat? BillsDaily is run by Steve Saslow (http://www.billsdaily.com/draft/2014/1stroundmock.shtml).

I absolutely love Sammy Watkins, but even I would not do it this year. We only have 6 picks right now and this is a very deep WR draft. Admittedly Watkins is one of only 4 or 5 elite players in the draft, but, for what we are looking for, we can find a quality WR down a bit. We keep hearing about how this is the deepest draft in years and WR is probably the deepest position. If anything, finding a trade down partner would be the most ideal.

I respectfully disagree with the mock as I do not believe 3 QBs will go in the top 10. I don't believe 2 QBs will go in the top 10. I believe 1 will go in the top 10, but it will be out of necessity because I don't see any of the QBs actually being in the top 10 on a big board.

I think I'd be more inclined to give them 2014 1st & 3rd and 2015 2nd

I think it's more likely we get the Browns 1st 26th overall and their 2nd for our 1st.

If the Browns would throw in their 6th rounder I make the trade.

This draft is deep and we need picks.

I don't see how this move makes the team better. Give me 2 quality guys over 1 good wide out with a questionable QB.

Also, that scenario is one I've been pimping hard the last few days.

If Clevealnd wants Watkins/Mack and Bortles/Manziel this scenario is in play.

Of course it's in play that Manziel and Bortles go in the first 3 picks and throw a wrench into everything.

I think failing to address the RT position without at least a 2nd round pick would be a terrible decision, regardless if it netted us Watkins.

I'll remind you. While Pat is a nice guy he's basically one of us. I don't see Cleveland trading if all three QB prospects are there. There are some who think it is far more likely that Cleveland will wait until their second first round pick to nab a QB, which also makes a trade down less likely.

Only two trades in the first round??? Sorry, I think somebody will trade up into the first round. JMO

Even if he is a Julio Jones, Atlanta spent an awful lot to achieve the glory of Julio Jones for um, having a Julio Jones and that 4-12 record of awesomeness. I'd rather not be 4-12 even if we had Julio Jones. AJ and Megatron sure did lead their teams to glory. Does anyone really want this ? Trading up horrifies me. Help Manuel with Ebron or a tackle if you have to.
