Hello fellow fans:

I' m planning to travel from Puerto Rico to Buffalo for the first time with my wife, and need help finding a hotel close to the stadium or one that includes bus trips to the stadium or packages that includes tailgating. We are interest in the game with the Patriots on Oct. 12. Any suggestion will be greatly appreciated. Thank You!

Call them up and ask them about bus transportation to the game. The game is surely a sell-out. Why not stay there, watch the game, enjoy the experience? I'm guessing that the cost of transportation and ticket price will defray the stay at a posh place.

Thank you for the suggestion. We called them but unfortunately is booked for that weekend due to a wedding. They suggested us to stay closer to the stadium, because traffic on game day is pretty heavy. Any hotels near the stadium?

Some of the local folks will respond to your question. Buffalo is a warm-hearted town. I'll keep your request alive until you get a satisfactory reply. I'm sorry that the suggested place was booked full, since you and your wife are traveling such a long distance, and looking for something memorable. Be it the game or the place.

Folks - help this fellow.

There are a number of bed & breakfasts in the region south and east of Buffalo if you want a really special stay that time of year during the changing leaves. There are any number of sites advertising them. You can also try vrbo.com.

Maybe rent a car, no? I've never taken a bus to a game, but there are all kinds of buses going there from all sorts of places, least of all not having traveled from the Boston area for fans that don't have tix to the Pats there. Buffalo's an easy drive for them and they get tix in huge blocks once they go on sale as such. Buffalo's been somewhat a home-away-from-home for the Pats, unfortunately, in recent seasons.

You won't have any trouble getting tickets for face value outside the stadium though if you choose to wait.

Dosen't seem to be much choice near the stadium.

I am a local, but being local I have never had need of those kinds of amenities. My suggestion is to find a bigger local hotel (like Hyatt or Adam's Mark) and call them. They might have packages available for people coming in from out of town with bus information, etc.

That's a good suggestion.

Ask Tom Brady, he has nice things to say about staying in Buffalo.

This might be too late, but I think if you stay downtown or near UB the bus is real easy to catch and take to the game

Also, depends upon how much you want to spend on a hotel room. There used to be a couple of nice Red Roofs in the area, the one at Depew and the other at Hamburg. Not sure how nice they are now.

Also, did you want to go to the Falls and stay closer there?

Just coming for the game, or what else do you want to do? Toronto's an hour away. The Wellington Canal in Thorold is great and highly educational. My professor at UB for Oceanology told me about that and I've been back numerous times. It's cool.
