A few draft day predictions

In no particular order…

1. Bortles will be the 1st qb taken
2. We will not trade up to draft Clowney or Watkins
3. Although I wish we would, we won't trade back, but we will pick @ 9
4. Clowney & Watkins will go #'s 1 &2
5. If Matthews is there, he's our pick. If not, either Martin or Beckham
6. Kiper's hair will still look like Jello Mold
7. Johnny Manziel will be a Raider

Martin = Mathews without a HOF family.

I'd be happy enough. Would prefer a trade down first but Martin's fine in my book. I don't get your hatred on non LT olineman.

I would not hate it if there were not other gaping holes (I don't think Rivers addressed LB, they need a playmaker on offense especially if Spiller is gone in a year) that need to be filled first.

If they pull off a decent trade-down, LB Shazier might fall into their sights, on the cheap.

Here are a few more predictions…

8. There will be 6 WR's picked in the first round (Watkins, Evans, Beckham, Cooks, Lee, and Benjamin or Landry)
9. Teddy Bridgewater will be picked late 1st or early 2nd round
10. If the Bills go OT first, they will pick ILB or WR in the 2nd. (wouldn't be surprised if they got a RB either)
11. I am going to play that drinking game where every time Maycok says kid, I'm drinking!!

I'm not interested in personal entertainment either. I published a quip as to what might happen if BUF makes such a move. It comes at a cost - if the pundits have been right, being away from the table in a deep draft flooded with record numbers of junior prospects to me is - opportunity lost.

This club is 14 years on the outs and counting, years and years of head-scratching about OL and LB and QB. It would be nice to get a top dog, but that's just one dog. Clowney isn't going to turn around a team that for reasons unknown decided that max pass rush was the way to go. He'd just be more fuel to a nonsense fire IMO.

They had a decent 2013 draft, getting Alonso and Woods. Manual - we have to see. Levitre and Byrd left, for good or bad.

Build the foundation.

if EJ is ready to step up big time, moving up for a big player would be very exciting. i just don't know if you can trust that. i say stay the course and take a legit lineman or a strong LB. That will help the bills even if EJ isn't the man and needs to be replaced next year.

if you trade up and ej sucks, our options on qb become very limited.
