    Jones ends holdout

Seahawks' franchise tackle signs one-year, $5.9 million deal
KIRKLAND, Wash. (AP) -- Holdout tackle Walter Jones has reported to the Seattle Seahawks, filling a critical need leading up to the team's season opener against New Orleans.

"I'm just ready to come back and play football," Jones said Tuesday. "That's the whole objective, to get me here to play football."

Jones, the team's franchise player, signed a one-year tender worth $5.9 million. He has been seeking a long-term deal, but Seattle's front office has said no contract will be negotiated until after this season.
