I'm hopeful for 9-7 but thinking 8-8. Ten years ago I would have said this roster would be 11-5. #jaded

3-13 Cleveland LOVES thier pick. Leave it to the Bills to suck really hard and not have a pick for it. They will lose 9 of those 13 by 3 or less.

too hard to call. last year we were 6-10. with a few bounces and luck, it's a 10-6 roster. if it gets some of those bounces early in the season (namely closing out the patriots in the openner), there is a confidence that just builds.

hackett has to grow up a lot this year and get more out of everyone. EJ needs to be better. he doesn't need to be an allstar, but if we are a serious playoff team, he'll have to win 2-3 games on his own.

I honestly would be impressed if the team is 4-4 at their bye.

my gut says 5-11 though. it was a huge gamble on a player who in and of himself can not make that much of a difference. and i don't think EJ will be making the leap the team is counting on.
It could totally happen (because we are due)
it could totally not happen (because it hasn't thus far).

i wouldn't call it.

And btw... Rex Ryan says this to all you blind homers: "Rex Ryan: Teams won’t want to play the Jets this year"

Jets coach Rex Ryan says his team is going to be awfully tough to beat this season.Ryan said on WFAN that he thinks the Jets are putting together the kind of team that other teams won’t want to see on the schedule in 2014.

“I’m going to be honest with you,” Ryan said, via NJ.com. “I’m not so sure there would be too many people that want to play us. And that’s the truth (http://www.nj.com/jets/index.ssf/2014/05/rex_ryan_im_not_so_sure_there_would_be_too_many_people_whod_want_to_play_us.html).”
So is Ryan back to his old practice of guaranteeing the Super Bowl? Not quite.

“I’m not going to say how many wins we’re going to have, or whatever, but we are going to play a brand of football that I think our fans will be proud of,” Ryan said.

They think they can plug in Michael Vick at QB and go 12 -4 too.

if you annualize the 3-1 effort Vick will give you before his injury, yes, they can be 12-4.

i think the jets continue to be very good in some games, and inexplicably bad in others. i'd love to see Geno have a phenominal preseason because there is no pressure, then win the starting gig, then collapse during the season because the pressure is too much.

.2-14 depending on the Vikings game.

Injury prone QBs, Running Backs, Rookie WR usually don't make a difference, especially with bad QB play, loss of Byrd.

This guy has us at 6-10, breakdowns every game.

Ryan is going to lose to the, "F#!%$ng Buffalo Bills," twice in 2014.

His smoke is getting old.

6-10. They add a stud player at a position that historically has a hard time making an impact as a rookie. Only 5 rookie WRs have gained a 1000 yards since 2000 (Boldin, Clayton, Colston, Green and Allen). Calvin and Julio didn't. His success largely depends on EJ and Hackett. Two guys that I had questions about after last year. The OL got better. The defense changes philosophies yet again. Forth straight year of changing from a 3-4 to a 4-3 and back again. It's another step back.

I don't know why everybody is so quick to write off the opener with Chicago...very winnable, IMO, and if the team is going to improve it's a much better game to start with than a New England, or Denver, or the west coast.

Cleveland gets a top 10 pick to go along with theirs.

5-10 and Manuel only QBs 3 of the wins.

So, everyone who thinks this could be a turnaround year is a blind homer? Nice. Last I looked, it's a sixteen game season.

At Chicago - LOSS, it helps that Schwartz has played against them with Detroit but new team new scheme and on the road spells for trouble. Toss in when healthy the Bears D is something that could be troublesome for EJ and Watkins; debut. 0-1

Dolphins - WIN, home opener against a team we beat twice last year with our backup QB, if we lose then we're in worse shape then I thought for the season. 1-1

Chargers - LOSS, they made the playoffs last year for a reason. I think we've closed the gap but not enough to the win. 1-2

At Houston - WIN, no excuses. Mario has to me motivated to win and hopefully by this time Ryan Fitzpatrick has played poorly and we're going against Savage making his pro debut. 2-2

At Detroit - LOSS, Matt Stafford is a better QB at home. 2-3

Patriots - LOSS, it will be close but the Patriots will find a way to sneak away a win. 2-4

Vikings - WIN, the Vikings D isn't great and outside of AP not much going on offense. 3-4

At NY Jets - WIN, No excuses. The Jets defense is good but EJ showed he could handle them late last season. While they've added nice parts on offense I just don't see it jelling well. 4-4

BYE

Chiefs - WIN, this game is a barometer to see if we've taken the next step. It helps it comes off the BYE and at home. We should win as long as Tuehl not starting again. 5-4

At Miami - WIN, It won't be as easy as the first game but think we can still win. 6-4

Jets - LOSS, classic let down game. 6-5

Browns - WIN, the Browns faithful learns that Johnny Football isn't an NFL QB and Ben Tate isn't a starting RB. Toss in no Josh Gordon what do they have on offense? 7-5

At Denver - LOSS, Peyton is deadly. 7-6

Packers - LOSS, Aaron Rodgers is deadly too. 7-7

At Oakland - WIN. The Raiders have added a lot of players this offseason but still think we'll find a way to win. 8-7

At Patriots - LOSS, Brady finds a way to kill our hopes of a winning season. 8-8

Go Bills.
