Bills blessed by rookie's presence
BY SEAN JENSEN
Pioneer Press

Take a long, hard look Sunday at the Buffalo Bills' offensive line. Focus on the mammoth figure at right tackle, No. 68, the one who makes the other 300-pounders seem like foothills at the base of a mountain.

Mike Williams, a physical specimen at 6 feet 6, 370 pounds, will make his second NFL start at the Metrodome a week after his sparkling Bills debut against the New York Jets.

To the Vikings and their fans, Williams is a tease.

As the fourth player selected overall in the NFL draft, Williams has done everything Vikings first-round pick Bryant McKinnie hasn't: He has reported to training camp on time, improved steadily, bonded with veterans and upgraded the quality of the entire offense......

I wish I could see this former coworker of mine who was saying how dumb the Bills front office was for taking Mike over Bryant because Bryant "is better, never allowed a sack, handles his frame better, is more coordinated, isn't clumsy, will just flat out dominate, has a better frame, is more versatile and will be able to play anywhere on the line, all qualities that Mike Williams doesn't have". So then I said, I suppose you're gonna tell me that you know more about evaluating talent then the Bills Front Office, and the little turd had the nerve to say yes - but that's ok, the guys 30 years old, is bald, and has small man complex (he's only 5'2" tall if that). He's also a Cowboys fan - He's never gonna hear the end of the Texans bit the next time I see him. I'm so glad we didn't take Bryant. I doubt he'll eat his words for ONCE, and admit he was wrong about who the better of the two was. I wonder how Roy Williams' progress is coming as far as the finer points of courtroom ettiquette goes.
