If the NFL adds a franchise in Toronto (London as well ?) to get the international exposure they so desire, the Toronto franchise could benefit the Buffalo Bills. Splitting the cost of an NFL stadium would make good business sense & we could place it centrally in Niagara Falls as to have Rainbow bridge access as well as NYS Thruway access. We could have 2 completely different sets of advertising at the stadium where the TV's / Big Boards are all digital & customized for each team respectively. The 2 games can be played in December to help assure a full house & if placed in the same division, we'd have another intense rivalry like we have between the Sabres / Leafs where each other's fans could help fill the respective stadium. Miami could get moved to a southern division for travel sake (NFC South with Tampa in it) & make their own inter-state rivalry. The Bills would also gain additional viewership from out of market places like Toronto which would interest local advertisers wishing to expand their own markets across the border, so one would think we could find new sources of revenues. The NFL could charge stations like CBC / other Canadian stations additional rights / fees, which obviously would be highly viewed events locally / internationally on our game days.
Jones pining for Jon Bon Jovi in Toronto can get his fix, we have our new stadium half paid for by an outside party & we'd have a new team to hate, win win for Bills fans.
Discuss.
