As a general rule, I think a 140 character limit on tweets makes it difficult for them to be interesting. There's not enough room to elaborate or fully explain yourself.

Plus, in order to make a complicated point, people starting using shortened lingo to make their point without exceeding the character limit. And they start using slang like ur, 2 (to), 4 (for), and leaving out key words that make a proper sentence. It can make even the most intelligent points sound unintentionally stupid.

Twitter is nice for breaking news. But then you have to google whatever was said to get a fuller context of the situation to analyze what's happening.
