Everyone knows about Drew Bledsoe's arm, and the hands on Peerless Price and Eric Moulds. But the Vikings' first job on defense Sunday against Buffalo will be stopping Travis Henry's feet.
Henry began his second season with a 31-carry, 149-yard performance against the Jets that included three rushing scores.
The 5-9, 220-pounder has a low center of gravity; Vikings cornerback Corey Chavous described his running style as having a bowling ball coming at you. And he clearly gets the ball rolling for the Bills' offense.
Under first-year offensive coordinator Kevin Gilbride -- who interviewed for the Vikings' job before Mike Tice hired Scott Linehan -- the Bills are using a lot of quick-release passes. Much of it is based on using the play-fake to freeze the linebackers.
"You take away the run and the play-action is no longer as much of an influence," said middle linebacker Greg Biekert. "Especially on the linebackers underneath."
The Vikings did a good job of slowing Chicago's running game Sunday. Anthony Thomas averaged 2.4 yards on 19 carries and the Bears finished with 80 yards on 26 carries.
