It’s fitting, we suppose, that at a time the Bills reportedly are trying to extend the window for selling beer at Ralph Wilson Stadium, the latest potential buyer of the franchise owns a brewery.

According to Tim Graham of the Buffalo News, Pabst Brewing Company owner C. Dean Metropoulos could make a run at buying the team.

“The Metropoulos family has a continued interest in acquiring an NFL franchise and expects to review any such opportunity,” a spokesman said.

Metropoulos tried to buy the Jaguars in 2008. Three years later, Wayne Weaver sold the team to Shad Khan. Last year, Metropoulos revived the Twinkie (http://business.time.com/2013/03/21/how-do-you-revive-twinkies-a-qa-with-the-new-owners-the-metropoulous-brothers/), purchasing the snack cake division of Hostess through the bankruptcy process.

Several potential buyers of the Bills have been identified via reports, and through their own public comments. The process could move quickly, with the overriding concern of the fan base being that the new owner won’t move the team.

He lives in Connecticut, I'm sure he's not moving the team there. If he stays in CT then the closest he'll get is WNY. Then again, these guys and their private planes make a one hour trip from Rochester to OP seem like a 6-hour drive to NYC.

Pabst is for sale. They have been on a roll for a decade, sales are way up. Maybe buying the Bills is what Metropoulus is hoping to use the 1B he's going to get from a sale of the brewery. The one note of concern- Pabst is brewed in LA, don't know if Metropoulus has ties to that area.

Terry Pegula literally made more than this guys net worth just yesterday after selling land holdings for $1.75 BIL.

It doesn't increase Pegula's net worth (still $3.3 BIL) but it frees up $1.75 BIL in cash.

I still think/hope Terry's the guy.

OK, so if I already didn't like PBR, I certainly have a reason to now.

Pabst Blue Ribbon is contract-brewed (http://www.billszone.com/wiki/Brewing) in six different breweries (http://www.billszone.com/wiki/Brewery) around the U.S. in facilities owned by Miller Brewing Company (http://www.billszone.com/wiki/Miller_Brewing_Company) (a few of which were actually Pabst breweries at one time). from wiki

I find it interesting that there is no physical address for Pabst on the label... only a mere PO box in wisconsin
