20. Buffalo Bills Hire Jim SchwartzGood thing Jim Schwartz was available. The embattled former head coach of the Lions may have been in over his head a bit in Detroit. Despite a remarkable turnaround that saw an 0-16 team make the playoffs just three seasons later, the Lions fired Schwartz after underachieving for the past couple of seasons.

As the defensive coordinator for the Bills, Schwartz gets an opportunity to shine at what he did best before he took that gig.

I know that when this change first happened, that a lot of posters, still upset over Pettine leaving, questioned or panned the signing of Schwartz. They didn't like his scheme, or whatever the complaint was. The fact is that Ralph Wilson had not allowed a lot of veteran coordinators to come here over the years. Schwartz was as close to a square peg going into the square hole of the Bills needs as you could get. He has a good history of fielding good run-stopping defenses. I liked the move from the beginning.

Wait until November, it'll be on there.
