If Trump bought the Bills for a billion or so & someone offered him ~$2 Billion a few years later, do you think he'd sell the team ?

No, but you can bet your ass that if someone built him a new stadium in LA, he'd move them faster than you can say "hairdo."

If he made 10 dollars and got 5 years of press from it, he'd sell in a week, then keep reminding everyone how he saved us and it wasn't his fault Boise bought the team with an overwhelming offer and that's just how business works.

Well this is how business works, The Donald, Golisano and or Pegula won't let you and you need to run for President again to remain relevant and maybe someone will let you buy a semi pro bocce ball team in Alabama. Go away, shoo....

How stupid is it to wonder if given the keys how Trump would drive the car versus other potential owners ?

I can tell you the only guy that wouldn't is Pegula.

I'll tell you what, if Trump (or anyone) bought the team, had it make the playoffs and truly compete therein for years 2-5 of his ownership, and then sold the team for more, I would trade that over another owner that came in bought this team and left this current front office in place and allowed it to be run like it's been run on Wilson's watch.

As has been said, it's better to burn out than to faaaade awaaaay.

I'll take 5 seasons of competent ownership over 20 more seasons of this garbage any day of the week.

Of course he would. Pegula probably would also.

He'd sell so fast his toupee would still be mid air where he was standing.

Pegula isn't as much of a capitalist as Trump, so I don't think he sells while he's alive.

Why is this, 'friggin stupid?'

I think it's a good question.

I don't think Trump would sell for a billion dollar profit because his legacy would forever be tarnished.

He doesn't want to go down in NFL history as the villain who stole the Bills from Buffalo.

Trump is also smart enough to know that the team will be worth much more in another short 10 years.

Maybe its been answered here already (haven't checked every thread), but doesn't Trump own a few Casino's or partial ownership? If so would he be allowed to own an NFL team?

He sold all his interest in the casinos, he's clear.

If you paid $800 Million for something and someone offers you $1.6 Billion, you are going to say "no"?

- it's a stupid question because trump isn't a real contender to win the bid for the team.
- it's a stupid question because none of the other 31 other teams have flipped the team for profit. these guys like the cache of being an owner. and frankly once in, if you get out, you never get in again.
- It's a stupid question because trying to figure out what trump would do if he somehow got the team is impossible. he's a class one idiot. he's gone bankrupt more times than you've eaten wings in your lifetime.

Its stupid because no one else would be dumb enough to offer double the cost of a franchise after only a few years.

Is Trump greedy? probably. If someone DID offer him double would he take it? More than likely yes.

Trump, or his companies, have declared bankruptcy 4 times. If you've only eaten 3 wings in your life I feel sorry.

Also, hes worth 3.9 billion dollars, at least according to Forbes, and even if that isnt totally accurate hes still worth hundreds and hundreds of millions. He obviously has some business acumen.

You might. Donald Sterling paid 25m for the Clippers and he didn't want to sell the team for north of a 1B when nobody even wanted him as owner anymore. You can only own so many cars, so many pairs of shoes. If you have billions being the owner of a professional team is a daily ego stroke, it becomes part of your identity. How much is that worth when you have more than enough to do/live/eat/travel/own pretty much whatever you want?

If someone wanted to pay double for the bills they would do it now. Why wait for a couple of years?
