Get fracking Murray.

You need to spend some money unwisely.

He is not all about that either...

He is exempt from spending the league minimum?

He can give an existing young player a stupid contract like they did with Myers.

Don't see that either.
Will be interesting to see what he does!

They need to spend $16 million to get to the floor and they are over $34 million below the ceiling.

Wow.

Wow.

Easily done if we give Ennis and Foligno to extensions, bring in a name UFA (Paul Statsny), a veteran backup/starting G and a 2nd/3rd line Winger.

I figure about 5 million will be spent between Ennis and Foligno

Guys like Grigorenko, Larson, Ruhwedhal and Pysyk are not being counted yet. There is another 4 million or so.

So it is 8 million. Pick up a guy or two like Havlat and they are all set

I think Havlet's a thought because of his Ottawa connection yet when I heard Murray talk UFA who talked about adding guys who didn't get shots with the teams they were on prior and to me that's not Havlet. Yet if want to look at an Ottawa guy to pursue I'd go after Milan Michalek as he's only twenty nine so he could be a guy to have for a year or two while Armenia develops.

Havlat is in San Jose and has one year left on his deal at a 5 million cap hit.

Trade a 2nd and something for their first and Havlat and they get some cap space

Meh, I don't like the idea of the and something. Unless it's the later two seconds we have.

I was thinking a 3rd or a lower level prospect

Well the only way we'll get Havlet now is through UFA as the Sharks bought him out http://lastwordonsports.com/2014/06/27/martin-havlat-bought-san-jose-sharks/

Iggy is available if you want to spend money on a player who doesn't desire to win over the next two years.

2 years for $6M per would get him.

He'll float for you during the tank.

Don't you have some cuttlefish ink pasta to make?

Brian Gionta, Steve Ott, Moulson and either Brooks Orpik or else resign Tallinder to tutor the kids.

I'd take Brooks Orpik and Moulson from that list.
