For those that haven't already done so, I recommend this read by John Vrooman on the current economics of the NFL in terms of what is revenue shared, stadium financing, etc.

It gives you a sense of what the challenges and opportunities are. Highly factual and well organized with tables and charts.
Often I see posters posting wrong factual information here that a quick read of the above would remedy.
