Bills cut Ramses Barden to make move for Roosevelt.

Was hoping Barden was going to make it as a big body receiver...

Now there is a weapon to help EJ put the Bills over the top.

I always thought Roosevelt looked good. Not sure why he cant stick with a team.

Didnt the Saints sign him a few weeks back?

I sure liked him at UB. Always made the 3rd down grab.

Let camp sort it out. Best of luck to a fellow St. Joe's grad.

PR stunt ... and a good one!

It is a smart move on several levels.

The PR.

They get a more experienced guy in camp that can make for better practice with the young QBs.

Roosevelt won't make the team, but if he stays in shape he might easily be called on if the injury bug hits the receiver squad. He will have learned the system in camp.

Not saying that he is anything great, but he has made plays in the NFL. One that I remember was a pass play against the Fins a few years back. Fitzpatrick thew to him in double coverage and he made an athletic play.

This again? Jeez.

I'd take Namaan over Chris Hogan anyday of the week that said both are ideally suited to be 5th WRs in the NFL.

He's baaaaaack!

Practice Squad Move: The Bills brought back WR Naaman Roosevelt to the practice squad (http://www.billsdaily.com/frontoffice/#psquad). They moved Caleb Holley to the practice squad injured reserve list.

Woulda preferred TR, but I'm not gonna complain too much about someone who is just going to sit on the bench.

How is Naaman Roosevelt even practice squad eligible?

The new CBA has some differences to the squad. Now you can be on for up to three seasons but I guy doesn't earn a season unless he's on a PS for more than 6 games compared to 3 in years past. So I'm guessing teams sign him to the PS for one or two games and then cut him. More details here http://www.thephinsider.com/2014/8/30/6086009/nfl-practice-squad-salary-eligibility-and-rules

Naaman Roosevelt: While Roosevelt isn't exactly new to pro ball like Smith, he's definitely caught the attention of Rider Nation since getting on the field mid-season. His big play potential can help the Riders stretch the field and he does add a little bit of size to a receiving corps that is highlighted by Smith and Dressler. If you take Roosevelt's production in eight games, you can see he's also a potential 1,000-yard receiver for the Green and White.

He has a chance to have a job for yrs to come.

I saw this thread, didn't look at the date and was like really, they brought him back?

Then saw ticat's post and I say good for him, good to see him still playing and enjoying some success north of the border.

Yeah, that's why he's on an NFL roster right now.

He's better than Hogan.

Hogan's grown on me a little. It annoys me that he keeps running too short of the sticks, but his hands are improving and he's stocky enough that's he's not injured all the time like our other porcelain wideouts.

I'd take Roosevelt over Goodwin any day, however.

Goodwin > Roosevelt > Hogan

Yeah, that's why he's on an NFL roster right now.

The coaches only appear intelligent compared to you. Not the rest of the world however.
