I remember back in the day getting a double bacon cheeseburger and a frosty... they don't even have a double bacon cheeseburger on the menu anymore. They have something called a baconator... which is not the same.

Kinda disappointing. I've not had fast food in a long time (years) but i remembered wendy's as being the place to go for a good hamburger. Not any longer.

Here in SW Ohio, they remodeled their outlets, and promised a new dining experience So I gave it a try out of curiosity. I hit such joints 2 or 3 times a year, to keep a hand in.

You line up and give your order to a fellow who says "Hi! I'm Jim" or some such. Asks you for your name - I said "Pope John", and Jim didn't break stride, saying," your order is placed, Pope John!" You then get handed a thermal paper ticket and move out of the way. Then someone shouted "Pope John, Pope John, your order is ready!"

Nobody in the joint batted an eye.

It was pretty plain to see that founder Dave Thomas was well dead and buried.


Give a Burger King a try - if you can find one that isn't a filthy pig sty. Their double cheeseburger is decent and cheap, the onion rings are done well.
