Donald Trump doubts he'll get the Bills

Trump: chances are 'unlikely' he is next Bills owner
    Nate Geary

According to Donald Trump, the chances that he becomes the next Bills owner are "very, very unlikely."

In a FOX News interview, Trump maintained that he indeed plans to place a bid on the Bills but said he realizes he's not the only one with interest in the team. "Everyone knows I’ll be doing that, I’ll be bidding," Trump said. "But many other people will be bidding, and I would say the chances are very, very unlikely because, you know, I’m not going to do something totally stupid."

Expected to officially place bids on the bills are current Buffalo Sabres owner Terry Pegula and former owner Tom Golisano, along with Jon Bon Jovi.

He'll have to actively search for other ways to garner headlines.

My (minuscule) money is on Pegula's (monumental) money.
Should have known, way back in 1960 when we drafted Richie Lucas Number 1, that this would be a long, hard ride. But who could have known it would be THIS bad?

Re: Donald Trump doubts he'll get the Bills

There was some "expert" on WGR yesterday. He said that there are about 16 bidders for the Bills.

The first bid is non binding. then there will be a second bid which is binding.

He said that the 16 will be culled down to 3 final bidders.

And he said unlike other leagues, the NFL much prefers a single person over a group of people as owners.

He said 15 of the last 16 sales have been to a single owner.

i didn't see that coming. a guy who's only rich because daddy was, who fought the NFL and lost, and isn't anywhere as close to as rich as one would need to be, is unlikely to an NFL owner. like i said, never saw it coming.

I think Trump has more money than the Toronto group combined.

And before anyone brings up Ed Rodgers, his money is held in trust & only a share of that money is his.

i trust that donald lives on leverage. and that's why he goes bankrupt as often as he does. i doubt the nfl wants a really leveraged owner spending money like crazy only to not be able to pay those debt and or put the teams future ownership at stake.

I believe you can only go bankrupt once every 10 years as an individual.

Not even close especially if the Rogers family is apart of the Toronto group

Ed Rodgers is part of the group, but not the entire Rodgers family.

MLSE is worth at least 2.5 billion..Bon Jovi anywhere from $300 to $500 million. If Trump is worth 3 billion then it is probably even but what does it matter when Trump is saying it is very unlikely he will buy the team and he has probably always known he was not prepared to pay more than a billion dollars for the team

I just Googled Trumps net worth for the hell of it.

It says he is worth $3.9 Billion as of now. But you are right, I don't think he will bid enough to buy the Bills.

I don't think the Toronto group will bid enough either.

My money is on Pegula with the winning bid.

                            So who are the 16?

Definite: Pegula, Trump, Toronto group/Bon Jovi.

                            Probable: Golisano, Jacobs, LA group?

                            Who else?

                              Golisano is a definate.

                              Jacobs is out.

The financial guy from Buffalo that lives in LA (forgot his name) but wants to keep the Bills in Buffalo.

I would not be surprised by someone that wants to move the team to LA. Maybe more than one.
