All: The new Billszone site with the updated software is scheduled to be turned on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. The company that built it, Dynascale, estimates a FOUR HOUR shut down, from 8pm Pacific, (5pm Eastern) while they get it up and running. Nobody will be able to post in any forum until they are done. Afterwards, you may need to do a web search for the site, as old links will not work, because the site is getting a new IP address. Please be patient. If there are bugs, we will tackle them one at a time. Remember the goal is to be up and running with no glitches by camp. Doing this now assures us of that, because it gives us all summer to get our ducks in a row. Thank you!
There is work to be done and things to be learned. We are going to try to get the old look back - or something close to it. We also know there are bugs. A thread will be started to report bugs and then we can pass those onto the host.
Thank you for all the patience and support with this - hopefully this will greatly reduce the crashes and other site issues we have had lately.
Please use this thread to report any issues you come across

Panthers 'don't know' if Cam Newton will play vs. Bills

Looking forward to seeing the Bills play live tomorrow Very interested to see how EJ does. I hope he plays at least a full quarter.
I might up and leave if EJ plays 2 series again. I know they don't want him to get injured, but if he can't produce it's just having a mediocre injured QB. We know what we have in Tuel, we know what we have in Thad, and Dixon is Dixon. Keep him in for a quarter +

which could be the extent of his 2 short drives. i'm with you, he needs to show that he can manage the offense. repeated 3 and outs or 4 and outs is no good and to me shows sign of regressing.
even if he has like a 3-8 night, but moves the chains, i'll feel like maybe he's getting it. but batted passes, bad reads, and generally unable to do anything has me as worried as when jauron canned his OC the week before the season and was like, "no, it'll be fine!"
Re: Panthers 'don't know' if Cam Newton will play vs. Bills
i'd like to see him run more then a 1 read offense. You know Matt Leinart only ran a 1 read offense... he had a few great WRs to cover for him in it, but when the rest of the league caught on his career came to a screeching halt. Right now I've never seen EJ look good making multiple reads... and in the HOF game it was all one read looks.
My wife told me that if I had a dollar for every girl who found me unattractive, girls would find me VERY attractive.

How do you feel about Derek Anderson?
A disappointment, I was really hoping Jimmy "Why was I so sought after" Clausen would still be on the roster after I met him at a Jersey Mike's in Charlotte...

Isn't Kaepernick a one read QB as well? He locks onto one receiver on almost every throw.

1 read doesn't mean 1 WR to look at...
1 read means that he has 1 defender to look at, to decide where he's throwing the ball; during play action this read is typically the strong safety... though this can vary based on formation, play called, situation and defense. At the pro level 1 read plays are almost always play action... but it's also something offensive coordinators can fall back on to simplify an offense the QB isn't getting... or helping a QB out who can't read defenses well. It will work to a point... the problem is it's really apparent when a QB is operating in a 1 read system... and it's not hard to diagnose where the play is going once the QB gives that "look"... the trick is to get the defense to key on it... then you'll have everyone leaning in the right direction.
Kaepernick actually runs a lot of "read-option" in which case with the he's actually in a 2 read system... the first read is the 'play side' defensive end, the 2nd read is the play-side safety... though sometimes it's a linebacker... depends on the formation and what the defense has on the field...
