Solution #1 -- Trade Next Year's 2nd Rd Pick for the Best Back Up QB We Can Get

Not sure if a contending team would do that, but perhaps it would be possible.

Not all EJ's fault, but I suspect mentally he may be finished.

    Thoughts?

    No.

    Grab one after cuts? Yes.

Who would you target, just out of curiosity?

Have to think either Aaron Murray or Tyler Bray will be cut by Chiefs... EJ just does not look like an NFL QB this preseason

Waiver wire QB. I don't think there's anyone we'd want to trade for.

Some backups look better than others until you need use them in a different offense.

There is no one coming out of cuts that will be better than EJ....

The entire offense was not ready to play football today... You can't pin this on one guy.... Well except maybe Hacket.

3 posts in 8 years & this is what you post? Who held the ball too long & threw to no one on multiple occasions? The INT wasn't his fault because Chandler fell down but the rest is a mix of brutal & clueless. How about running out of bounds at the 13 on a designed QB rollout ? Maybe throwing it away might of been the only choice ?

Your glasses say one thing, mine say another. You don't have to be a DB about it.

Was EJ perfect? Nope. Was he good? Nope. Was anyone on offense good in the first half? Nope.

But to blame EJ for crap line play then getting nothing but predictable is ignorant.

The line cannot protect him from being indecisive but the line did let him down on several occasions, nothing some adjustment couldn't fix (we didn't make any adjustments in the first half).

Quite right. I'm not sure about Hackett - I thought the play calling was decent, certainly if we accept that Manuel simply is inept at long passing. Spiller lost several decent games with this preseason penalty festival.

I don't see any economical back-up vets out there. Vick, Sanchez to name a few likely wouldn't come cheap.

I take more exception with the DC than the OC. That was an excessive amount of blitzing...kudos to McCown with his 13 of 16 performance - he's a decent enough pro and I don't mean to denigrate him, but a more accomplished qb would have piled up more yards and points.

What are you trying to achieve? What's the goal?

Any QB you can pick up from another team for a 2nd rounder is surely not a starter - unless that QB is marginal.

In other words, even a decent vet QB will at most get you to 6-8 win season which will keep us presisely where we have been for the past 14 years.

Nobody blamed the QB for the line play.

How about a 2nd round pick for Kirk Cousins?
