All: The new Billszone site with the updated software is scheduled to be turned on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. The company that built it, Dynascale, estimates a FOUR HOUR shut down, from 8pm Pacific, (5pm Eastern) while they get it up and running. Nobody will be able to post in any forum until they are done. Afterwards, you may need to do a web search for the site, as old links will not work, because the site is getting a new IP address. Please be patient. If there are bugs, we will tackle them one at a time. Remember the goal is to be up and running with no glitches by camp. Doing this now assures us of that, because it gives us all summer to get our ducks in a row. Thank you!
There is work to be done and things to be learned. We are going to try to get the old look back - or something close to it. We also know there are bugs. A thread will be started to report bugs and then we can pass those onto the host.
Thank you for all the patience and support with this - hopefully this will greatly reduce the crashes and other site issues we have had lately.
Please use this thread to report any issues you come across

Toronto, Seattle, Quebec City rumuored to be part of it.
Talent pool is going to be really diluted, but at least Toronto finally gets an NHL team. I can't wait for our roster to get raped in an expansion draft once we start winning!
I see your Randy Wyrozub and Butch Deadmarsh and raise you Zenon Konopka and John Scott
Hah...yeah those guys are bums but they have a role that does not really relate to skill. Freddie Shero would have signed Scott and each of his four brothers to contracts back in the 70's. Wyrozub was a 4th round pick. I don't think he'd be drafted today.
But consider that the total NHL roster in '66 was just 120 players with 97% from Canada. Seven years later it had nearly tripled (nearly quintupled if you include the WHA) without any substantial change in the pool of available talent. There were only a handful of Americans and virtually no Euros aside from a certain pair of chicken Swedes. As late as 1975, 90% of players were from Canada. In a few years, they will be just another minority.
Sure the number of teams and players has doubled again since '72, but the US is a far better pool than it was back then and a quarter of players come from Europe. Two more teams isn't going to have any significant impact.

Except Scott isn't a Sabre anymore. (Thank the heavens! )

BurnsideNHLESPN tweet...The NHL does not want Quebec to get a team, and can you say Las Vegas Panthers
Can you say: You'll NEVER see the NHL in the LV on a regular basis? Hell, their ECHL team is on a voluntary hiatus because they got turfed out of their rink(and no, it's not the MGM Grand Garden Arena-it's the rink at the Orleans Arena).
