The NFL is going to do everything in its power to ensure the Toronto group wins bid

This sales process is shady as hell. Pegula is doing everything by the book, yet the Toronto group is still in play after: submitting a bid that was rejected (why did they get the chance for a do-over?), breaking the non-disclosure agreement at every opportunity, researching stadium sites in Canada even though a group planning to move the team is forbidden per language in the trust, and now restructing the principal owner in the group at the last possible second.

If you think that Goodell and the league isn't hell-bent on the Bills moving, you're crazy. Small-market teams always get the shaft, unless you're a golden child like the Packers. You're talking about a commissioner that told Michael Vick he couldn't sign here to be the starter because he needed to go to a big market in Philly to be the 3rd-stringer at the time.

If Pegula wins with a bid of like $890 million, you watch, they will say that Morgan Stanley bungled the process and make them start all over again.

Politically speaking, trying to move the Bills would trigger very negative events for the NFL. The only reason the Toronto group has been allowed to hang around is to try and get a higher bid out of Pegula.

With Bon Jovi out, the Toronto group can raise their bid which will force Pegula to raise his bid.

I think that is what this is all about, raising the price the team will be sold for.

But if the Toronto group does in fact buy the team, you can expect a legal battle to ensue.

And the team will play in an EMPTY stadium until it is moved.

I do expect Pegula to be the winning bidder, I just think the price went up.

Every time I get down on Goodell (which is every other day), I remember this and thank him.
Lehner's history. He just doesn't know it yet.

How can you say that? We might have actually been more competitive!

There is zero evidence that this is anywhere close to being true.

In FACT, the NFL has a long history of doing all it can to ensure teams stay put, using that goal as a wedge to maintain their anti-monopoly exemption.

Toronto for the NFL is like what porn is for men... in Public they feign no interest, in Private they want it

I don't believe this title for one second. The NFL wants to Bills to stay in Buffalo.

The NFL wants a new stadium for the Bills. Whether that stadium is in Buffalo or not is, IMO, not really the NFL's main concern.

Well, the final bids are due by the end of this week.

                      We will know soon.

                        Regardless, Pegula will prevail.
Should have known, way back in 1960 when we drafted Richie Lucas Number 1, that this would be a long, hard ride. But who could have known it would be THIS bad?

                          Well said, Bonzai.

I don't care who owns the team. If a modern stadium isn't built in the time frame of the last lease, they're gone anyways.

Not if Pegula is the owner.

On the other hand, Pegula would most likely get a stadium built & sooner rather than later.

or worst case secenario. Pegula buys the team keeps it for the 6 years. realizes its impossible to work with the state and county on a new stadium and sells it to a group that will move it to Toronto or LA and make a quick half a billion
