Nathaniel Hackett and Jim Schwartz at this time are currently pulling all nighters, watching tape, sipping coffee all night long and eating way too much pizza at OBD.

Jim Schwartz knows a lot about Chicago's defense, and Jay Cutler too.

The Schwartz beat Chicago last year, twice.

How to beat the Bears?

Just ask Jimmy.

"So Jimmy...how do we beat Chicago?" - Hackett

"Kidnap Calvin Johnson..." -Schwartz

"Well ****..." -Hackett

Hackett: "Hey Jimmy, tell me everything you know about the Bears and Jay Cutler."

Schwartz: "That will cost you many cases of beer and many pizzas my friend."

Hackett: "Sold."

Beer, pizza, and devouring game tape vs. a wife who won't stop talking, back to school kids, and God knows what else?

I wouldn't want to go home either.

Go Bills.

What does Schwartz beating Chicago twice have to do with us? We don't have a QB close to what Detroit has, nor do we have a WR like Megatron.

The best defense is a good offense. When we go three and out all day, Cutler will eventually carve us up, especially in the second half when our defense is worn out. Let's not forget it's the home opener to kickoff the season. Usually not a good recipe for a visiting team who can't normally get out of their own way.

It has to do with the fact Schwartz knows the Bears first hand.

And everyone that says how great the Bears offense is never says a word about how terrible their defense is.

Bills Offense>Bears Defense.

I love your optimism but we don't know that to be a fact like we don't know how our run game has improved. We did well in limited, vanilla preseason games when our 1st team was one the field, but can our run D hold up for 4 qtrs. when teams actually game plan and make game day adjustments?
Don't forget ,we are playing last years 2nd highest scoring Trestman offense in the league despite having lesser ball possessions because of their crappy run D. They brought in more players to improve their run D and if it does improve, last years 2nd highest scoring offense could score more.

The bills on offense has to run to keep Cutler off the field and when he is on the field, the bills has to stop Cutler. We will soon see if our pass D was as good as it was last year or if it looked good only because teams were running against us.

I was always a fan of Cutler.

I wanted the Bills to trade for him.

I remember being told he was TERRIBLE by MANY people.

Now he is an elite QB?

Whether the bears have an elite qb is not the question. The question is, did they have a high scoring O? I think they did with limited possessions. Bills had more possessions than they did yet they scored more

BTW, I wanted Trestman because of his offensive knowledge and its something to think about because he proved it last year

unless hackett really has this team's playbook as a carefully guarded secret like he says, the 5 games we've seen of them, the offense is terrible.

going back to last year, it's unimaginative and relies on what seems to be a handful of plays and lack of creativity. Therefore, defenses know what stops the bills in the first quarter will stop them throughout the game.

based on the action i've seen, i would be more inclined to believe that the bills offense will get worse before it gets any better.

Yeah, I wanted Trestman as well but he NEEDS a GOOD DC like Pettine or Schwartz.

The Bears have Mel Tucker as DC. Google him & you will see headlines such as Tucker needs to be fired by the Bears & Tucker on the hot seat.

And we all know it starts with the QB. Like I said I am a fan of Cutler, but when he is pressured he throws INT's.

I expect Schwartz to bring the pressure on Sunday.

I beleive Marrone when he said that the Bills have not shown anything yet.

The question is, how well can EJ and the rest of the offense can execute this secret game plan?

We play NE twice a year and know them like the back of our hand. We've still only beat them once in the last 21 games against them.

I think most people would agree the refs have something to do with that.

"JUST GIVE IT TO THEM."

Oh sure we get burned by the refs numerous times in that stretch, but there were a lot of ass-whippings that cannot be blamed on the refs in any way, shape or form.

Cutler is not elite but Marshall, Jeffrey, and Forte are.

they haven't shown anything from the start of their regime.

it's a lot easier to believe that they just don't know what they are doing than it is that they have a secret game plan that will be dramatically different from last year.

hackett is what he is. a low level OC designed for college kids. his ideas are not geting the job done at a much higher level. and they won't unless he has more imaginative game plans and play calling.
