Baltimore terminated his contract.

This after another video of him and his now-wife surfaced.

Frankly, I'm stunned....at a number of things, most notably how fast it took Baltimore to drop the hammer on Rice.

Good for the Ravens! They should've cut that murderer Ray Lewis back in the day too! It's about time these NFL teams take a no tolerence stand against violence!

Should they do more against domestic violence? Hell yes. But I'm not sure that making Roger Goodell the sole arbiter of the punishment is the best course to take.

The release of the second video this morning left them no choice.

I'm not just talking domestic violence, I'm talking all violence. So many of these players these days are nothing but thugs. If any one of us did half the things these athletes did, we'd be fired from our jobs. It's about time someone stood up and said in order to keep your job you need to follow the laws the rest of society follows.

If he's looking for a second career, he doesn't have a bad left hook. But you don't get sucker-punch women inside the boxing ring.

That video is so horrific, I don't think the Ravens had a choice in the matter.

And to think just a couple weeks ago, all those pieces of **** in Baltimore gave him a standing ovation.

I'm surprised that no one's seriously suggested that we pick him up yet.

The thing is that the league must have reviewed that video. How come no stiffer punishment from them?

This makes them stink too.

I don't know, if all the players in the league hate you.

A guy gets suspended an entire year for smoking grass & Rice gets two games......................CRAZY.

Beat your girlfriend unconscious, 2 weeks.

Smoke weed, 6+ games.

Seems legit.

Greg Aiello, the NFL's PR maven, just tweeted that commissioner Roger Goodell has indefinitely suspended Ray Rice.

So he's not going ANYWHERE anytime soon.

Exactly. Especially in a state where it's legal now. Stupid.

Goodell's probably trying to figure out how to cover his own ass now in light of his 2-game suspension earlier. The Ravens made the decision for him in essence.

Guess the nfl couldn't bury the footage the way they did the spygate footage.

this is pure conjecture on my part, but i do NOT buy for ONE second that the NFL hadn't already seen this video and now that this is released, they look really bad. f*** Goodell

I blame Ray for a poor choice, dragging her out of the elevator really made it just that much more egregious.

The 1st thing the NFL did was to state publicly that they never saw that video. And made a point of saying that they had asked for all videos related to the incident, but weren't provided that one.

How true that is..IDK.

http://awfulannouncing.com/2014/peter-king-contradicts-nfl-statement-that-the-league-never-saw-the-ray-rice-video.html

Back in July, Peter King (one of the most connected writers across the league) reported that the league did in fact see the elevator video before rendering their punishment towards Rice. From his MMQB column (http://mmqb.si.com/2014/07/29/jordan-gross-weight-retirement-panthers/2/) on July 29th (emphasis mine)…

There is one other thing I did not write or refer to, and that is the other videotape the NFL and some Ravens officials have seen, from the security camera inside the elevator at the time of the physical altercation between Rice and his fiancée.
Either the NFL is lying today about not seeing the video in an attempt to save face, or Roger Goodell and company are more incompetent than any of us could have imagined. ESPN’s Jane McManus also said the league had access to the tape.

Don't give the Ravens any credit. They had to of known Rice punched his girl in the face a long time ago. If the second video had never become public they'd never of released him.

The crime rate among NFL players (thugs) is lower than among the general population.

Rice's defense was that it happened in the middle of a physical altercation that was instigated by her, ie the "*****es be crazy" defense. The video clearly showed that wasn't the case.

What is even more sad at this point is that she is still defending him.

She is a poster child for ALL women at this point of Domestic Violence. They make excuses and blame others for why their man did.

My heart breaks for her and I just hope someone gets her help.

You may want to rethink that opinion. Sometimes a media entity willing to pay someone to break the law can get stuff the NFL won't pay for to obtain illegally:

The NFL maintains that the league was not permitted access to the elevator footage of Ray Rice assaulting his then-fiancee Janay Palmer, an assertion the New Jersey attorney general confirmed.

A spokesman for the attorney general's office told ABC News on Tuesday afternoon it would have been illegal to give the NFL a copy of the video. This remains consistent with the NFL's statements that requests for the video were denied. The league's office maintains that the NFL had not seen the video prior to Monday's release by TMZ. The video depicts Rice knocking Palmer unconscious

The Casino said if the NFL asked for the footage they would have gladly handed it over. Whether that's true or not, I don't know. But...why wouldn't they. If the NFL wanted to see the video, they could have. Period. Instead they wanted to protect the shield.
