The Percy Harvin roll will grow. Watkins may be our example. Wingback types who can run when in motion and catch well. It's to save the QB and forcing the D to back off.

    Running...is coming back.

Only in 4 out of 14 games did the team that passed more win.

      Philly vs. Jacksonville
      Pitt vs. Cleveland
      Minnesota vs. St. Louis
      Atlanta vs. New Orleans

Not like the NFL is a copycat league or anything...

        Teams are copying Seattle's blueprint.

Maybe that is why the Bills are loaded at running back?

In terms of yardage, you will often have a situation where an efficient passer builds a lead early and then turns to the run game, while the losing QB throws all over the place to try to catch up. See: Denver/Indy, San Francisco/Dallas. And sometimes they succeed - in both the Philly and Atlanta examples, passing saved the day when the run game was taken out of the equation.

Quick, someone tell the Lions the NFL is no longer a pass first league.

You have to look deeper into the game situations that resulted in so many pass attempts.

Example: In CIN@BAL, the Ravens were behind 15 - 0 at the half. Flacco was 10 of 23 at that point, and the weak rush game had only gained 23 yards. In the 2nd half, he was 25 of 39. Insane play calling on the part of BAL, IMO.

I think this means that teams that can't run the ball are forced to pass, and lose.

Or it means that OCs down in the first half panic and go pass crazy. As I said - insane play calling. See also keeping a defense honest.

The run set up that Giants scoring drive. Let's see if the Lions can run the ball.
