View Full Version : Would you sign Champ Bailey to play Safety?
They were talking on the radio here in Denver yesterday that Champ Bailey has been notifying teams that he's willing to move to safety. Considering we only have 3 safeties on the roster right now and Searcy and A. Williams have already gotten a little banged up, should the Bills consider bringing in Champ assuming he'd be willing to come here at a reasonable price?

Something the Patriots would do.

I'd take a look. Nate Clements gave CIN 2 decent years. Played between CB and S duties.

considering how average our safety play has been i'd give him a look

Spending a few bucks for an older DB's canniness pays dividends. In addition to Clements, Chris Crocker helped out - twice. MIN HC Zimmer gave him another look, BTW.

Don't be snotty, Opi. Bailey could help. They can sign him for a one or two game contract with mutually agreed to options. He can't go, no harm no foul.

Yeah, but we also need to dial up Kurt Schultz and Henry Jones while we're at it. Oh, and what is Leonard Smith up to these days?

Are you even serious? Who signs a one or two game contract?

I'm not completely sure but I don't even think the CBA allows that.

Darryl Green is still in great shape, told me a couple of years ago he can still run a 4.5 flat 40 and after hanging out with him at the HBCU bowl I absolutely believe him. Really nice guy.

On the topic of the thread, Bailey's best trait as a CB was his ability to read the route and break on the ball. His eyes probably haven't gone yet but he's a step or two slow already not sure he's fast enough to play SAF now.

I think he could definitely help this team. A little verteran smarts back there would really help.
