All: The new Billszone site with the updated software is scheduled to be turned on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. The company that built it, Dynascale, estimates a FOUR HOUR shut down, from 8pm Pacific, (5pm Eastern) while they get it up and running. Nobody will be able to post in any forum until they are done. Afterwards, you may need to do a web search for the site, as old links will not work, because the site is getting a new IP address. Please be patient. If there are bugs, we will tackle them one at a time. Remember the goal is to be up and running with no glitches by camp. Doing this now assures us of that, because it gives us all summer to get our ducks in a row. Thank you!
There is work to be done and things to be learned. We are going to try to get the old look back - or something close to it. We also know there are bugs. A thread will be started to report bugs and then we can pass those onto the host.
Thank you for all the patience and support with this - hopefully this will greatly reduce the crashes and other site issues we have had lately.
Please use this thread to report any issues you come across

did you seriously get behind? All of them? Or just some? Has to be Post-Flutie tho. Obviously we want them all to be successful and we support them, but some more than others.
For me, the only ones I seriously thought were going to be successful were Trent Edwards, and Fitz. I was all in with those two. I was psyched we got Bledsoe too but that didn't last long.
My faith doesn’t make me perfect, it makes me forgiven.
The problem is that, no matter who was the quarterback, I supported them because they're the quarterback of the team I want to win. It's asinine to root against a football player just to "be right", so have they sucked over the past few years? Sure but I've rooted for all of them and focused on their pros.
EJ has been a special case, since he has played unbelievably poorly the past 2 games and single-handedly cost this team winnable football games. I can't get behind that without seeing what "the other guy" can do... which with previous regimes created the "rooting for a certain QB" trend since we usually saw what all 2 or 3 could do.
They brought him in here talking run and gun to replace the statue Bledsoe, and I had visions of all kinds of running and gunning, to replace the statue Bledsoe, and then all the talked about was how they were trying to break him of his footwork and running and make him stay in the pocket. I'd thought mobile ! Big arm ! Dynamic offense !
No, they tried to make him Bledsoe who they wanted to replace him with because he was too stationary and by the time Edwards was here I had no doubt they'd try and break him of whatever useful he had too to make him more ineffective and something else he wasn't.
Since then, I badly want Fitz to make it, he was so much a Buffalo guy, and Manuel for a cinderella story, he was so proud for the Bills to pick him, and cried for emotion.
I'd be ok now with a psychopath I hate who can manage the pocket. You'll never see Orton change expression, so I guess I have a new one to get behind.
Bledsoe. His first game here he threw a huge block on a reverse vs the Jets and then week 2 he had that amazing game @MINN (the one where Mike Hollis hit the crossbar on a long fg to send it to OT and then Peerless Price won it in OT)... I was so excited for those teams. I thought Brady was a product of the system and Bledsoe was the real reason the Pats won the SB that year (he played great coming in vs Pittsburgh in the playoffs)

I will not be surprised if Tebow has more success than Peyton in the NFL.
Was very big on Bledsoe, Losman, and Edwards at certain points. Fitz to a lesser extent.
Bledose after the 2-0 start.
Losman when he was drafted.
Edwards after the comeback win at Washington.
I was ok with Fitz's contract but I thought he had reached his peak. Figured he would be the type that could hold it down for a few years but they would still keep their options open.
Other QBs that I was "somewhat optimistic" about include Vince Young when he was signed, EJ when he was drafted, Brian Brohm.
Never understood the Kolb love. He had like 3 good starts in his career over several seasons. Maybe it was the killing a wild boar with a butter knife or however that story went.
I hated Losman, absolutely despised him. That draft pick was so mind-boggling and disruptive to this franchise I still get furious when I think about it. In comparison he makes me feel warm and fuzzy about Rob Johnson.
I was all in on Bledsoe, I actually paid to have a jersey made the day the trade happened (before the CFL uniforms) so I have 90's style Bledsoe uni.
I like Trent a lot too up until that AZ game. He was never the same after that concussion.
I liked Fitz and still do, you can't fault a guy for not having the tools. He's a grinder and he's the type of guy you want to see do well.
I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?" "Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet. You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times."
It was all true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach.
He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.
EJ only because it felt like we had the team around him to improve but of course I have some slight issues with our receivers/TEs. I was also a fan of Trent Edwards when he was able to move the chains. I also liked Fitzpatrick to a degree. If you want to use hindsight it might have been better keeping Perry Fewell as HC and bringing in Chan Gailey to serve as OC. Because if that happens we likely won't see Edwards serve this team as the starter in 2010 and go Fitz all the way. As Fewell has shown he can coach defense and Chan has shown he can put up a good offense. Right now we seem to have the defense right but obviously the offense has struggled. JP Losman was a disaster that I never ever got behind. it was easy to love Bledsoe after that first week and first few weeks when we looked like the best team in the league but that offseason I wanted us to sign Jeff Blake as an UFA and draft David Garrard.
About the only ones I didn't buy into at some point were Holcomb & Fitzpatrick because I thought they were career backups who shouldn't be starting in the NFL, and I also never committed one way or the other on EJ other than thinking he had good intangibles & that he'd never be in any trouble like some other QB busts (Leaf & Russell to name 2). I figured if he busts it would be because of a lack of talent, not effort. I still thought Fitz was the best the Bills had at the time they had him, but I wanted better. I was done with Bledsoe by 2004 and I thought that Donahoe picking up the contract option was ridiculous. By pre-season 2007 I was off the JP bandwagon because I thought Edwards was going to be an elite QB. Watching him in pre-season, I told my co-workers that Edwards was going to be the next Joe Montana. I was at the NE game when JP was injured & I told the NE fans around me that Edwards coming in would end up being the Bills equivalent of the day Brady came in against the Jets in 2001. By the time he came into a game in 2009, I made a joke comparing him to Rob Johnson and that he'd get injured shortly after entering the game & he did-that was the end for me on Trent Edwards.
that's not my point tho, we all want our QBs to succeed, I got behind EJ too. But there has to be 1 or 2 that you liked more than others, and got behind and thought they'd bring us to the next level.
My faith doesn’t make me perfect, it makes me forgiven.
