View Full Version : Golden Tate rips Bills carrying Jim Schwartz off field

"I thought it was so disrespectful. So disrespectful," Tate said. "I didn't like it at all. If I knew I wasn't gonna get fined, I would have snatched him right down off the shoulders and threw him on the ground, personally -- but, you know, obviously, I couldn't do that. But, you know, if that's what they feel like that was the right thing to do, then so be it. But I just thought it was a bit disrespectful to come on someone's home field, because you have a past with them and kind of do that. So, you know, it is what it is. Hopefully he feels better for doing it."

Tate didn't stop there.

"It's a terrible gesture. Just being a spectator, that's not the first time he's done some things like that," Tate added. "And one thing I heard that -- I don't know how true it is -- but I heard it was planned. ... 'We'll do this if we win.' That's a total douche move.'"

Schwartz thing was a little weird but who cares, our team is unified.

Tate is an idiot. He's an average player who got drunk, broke into a doughnut shop, and got arrested for it right before his own draft. He 'allegedly' banged Russell Wilson's (ugly) former wife, caused contention on the team and Seattle didn't even try to retain him. Like I said, total idiot.

He celebrates 5 yard catches like an imbecile.

The coach is the one who's supposed to be the mature one here. And again, if you are going to tee off on Harbaugh for being disrespectful on your home field, don't act disrespectfully on someone else's.

I see no disrespect towards the Lions team in Schwartz being carried off the field. Maybe to the managment of that team, but not the team itself.

And before the game, a number of Lions players came over to talk to Coach Schwartz.

If the Browns win in Buffalo, I would have no problem with Pettine being carried off the field by his players.

SO WHAT?

In the first place, before this season, Petine was never in position to have a douche like Harbaugh disrespect him after a game.

In the 2nd place, what does being fired or not have to do with the players of your team being happy for you & your win over your old team?

Disrepectful? PLEASE.

Disrespect is the Owner of a team giving the finger to a fellow owner that is in the HOF.

Mike Pettine coached against Harbaugh in 2012, and got mudstomped on his home field. So?

Because Pettine isn't trying to show up Buffalo, Buffalo hasn't wronged him.

Golden Tate 911 -- They're 'Drunk, ******ed'

NFL rookie star Golden Tate was "drunk" and "being ******ed" when he broke into a donut shop in Washington and stole maple bars at 3 AM ... this according to the woman who called 911.

TMZ obtained the 911 call made on Saturday morning -- in which the Top Pot employee tells the dispatcher Golden and a friend snuck in through an unlocked door, stole keys and a bunch of donuts ... and then ran off.

If you think some of the players, especially on offense, didn't want to kick Schwartz's defenses asses up and down the field during that game, that's just being naive.

I'm OK with a little bit of attitude from this team, we've been missing that for so long. I'm damn tired of others stomping us when we're down, or sticking their **** in our faces when we lose...it's time to thump our chests for a little bit when we accomplish something, even if it is 'only' a road win against a non-conference opponent.

Meanwhile, Tate boasted in April that he’d never get in any trouble.

“Being at Notre Dame, you’re used to being under the microscope, so I’m used to having all eyes on me,” Tate told 93.7 The Fan in Pittsburgh. “Anything I do, anywhere I go. My mother and my father taught me what’s right and what’s wrong, so I don’t think I have a problem making any tough decisions.”

Apparently, he didn’t have to make any “tough decisions” between glazed and cream-filled.

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/06/08/report-golden-tate-avoids-arrest-in-donut-store-incident/

cheesy is certainly a word that came to mind. I know I felt disappointed and scared it was the last big horrah we are going to see from this team. It doesn't have to be ... but that thought also popped into my mind. I mean they really didn't achieve anything but a win against a good team. Of course, that is a whole lot because we haven't seen any of those in over a decade.

As long as they have a fairly clean arrest record, aren't a total dick, and win a lot of games, I will be happy with just about anything anymore. Why do you expect the NFL to be classy? 90% of their employment base is young black males from an inner-city. If you are looking for class from inexperienced 21 year old kids with millions of dollars more than any of us will ever make than I think that is the viewers' mistake. Yes you could argue that at the very least that coaches should be classy, but look at the Harbaugh's the Tomlin's....How bout the owners? Busciati and Irsay...If you are looking for class than you should probably be looking somewhere else.

Why would you carry a coach off the field 5 games into the season?

Act like you won a game before.

The Bills haven't won many games so it probably felt like a super bowl victory. You guys need to get over your classy selves. It's unbecoming.

The Bills players carried the wrong guy on their shoulders.

They should have carried the Lions kicker on their shoulders for missing 3 basic field goals.

Like I said, you know nothing about class.

I disagree that it was a classless move.

It was a Coaches players being happy for him & celebrating with him.

It is not like anyone took a dump on a Lion.

No it wasn't. It was a coaching asking his players to carry him off the field. Again, you see the difference here, correct?

"I'm not saying it's a big deal", just would like to know the context to determine if it was in any way douchey.

Which you know is going to be nearly possible to determine at this point since the comment happened back in May.

Was it 'classless' and 'douchey' when the goal posts came down after beating Miami? Would it have been more 'douchey' if it was planned the week before, or less 'douchey' if it was the eventual manifestation of an off-hand comment during the off-season?

I hate when fans tear down the goal posts in general. Storm the field all you want, but what sense does it make to damage your own teams property and then get them fined on top of that? The fact that this was a planned celebration is where people have an issue. If it was a spur of the moment, emotional reaction that's one thing. But for a coach (whose not the head coach) to be asked to be carried off the field is absolutely ridiculous.

I hope Dareus is a douche and gets carried off the field by the fans after he rips Tom Brady's ****ing head off this Sunday.

You're gonna need about 20 fans.

Where were the officials when Tate was clearly taunting the Bills' bench after a couple of his receptions? Flag should have been thrown on both occasions. but it was yet another non-penalty for Detroit.

What a cry-baby.

As others have already posted, @#$% Tate!

"I'm not saying it's a big deal", just would like to know the context to determine if it was in any way douchey. It was obviously an emotional win for Schwartz AND the players. They player top notch defense from the git go.

If this is douchebaggery, then so is all the celebrating after making a tackle or getting a first down.

I also think the overanalyzation of everything that happens on a football field to be mind numbing. Take it for what it is, emotions were running high after pulling out an unlikely win considering we were down 14-0 with our offense sputtering against a very good defense in Detroit AND in their house AND with a Coach that was unceremoniously dumped after he built that defense.

I think it is CRAZY that after a HUGE win in Detroit where Bills players had LASERS shined in their eyes, this is the thread that lasts 5 pages STUPID.

Correct, and it wasn't hard to know that our doucheiest poster would be on the other side of it.

The coach is the one who's supposed to be the mature one here. And again, if you are going to tee off on Harbaugh for being disrespectful on your home field, don't act disrespectfully on someone else's.

IF we beat the bills I think they should lift Spikes and Pepper Johnson on their shoulders.

Not only was it an emotional win for Schwartz and his D, it was a most emotional win for the entire franchise, as it was the last game of the Wilson era.

And it ended exactly right where it began...in Detroit.

Funny, but I didn't even think about it until reading Mrs. Wilson's thank you message in the paper.

A lot of the nonsense in football is staged for your entertainment and showmanship.

This was different.

It was the exact type of game that we lost over the last decade.

Perhaps this organization has turned a corner.
