Bears, FS Brown agree to terms on six-year contract

LAKE FOREST, Illinois (Ticker) - Free safety Mike Brown, who has led the Chicago Bears in interceptions each of the last two seasons, agreed to terms Thursday on a six-year contract.

Financial terms were not disclosed. The contract supersedes a five-year contract that was set to expire following the 2004 season.

A 2000 second-round draft pick, Brown burst on the scene in 2001 when he returned interceptions for overtime touchdowns in back-to-back wins over San Francisco and Cleveland. He earned All-Pro honors that season with a career-high five interceptions.
