Ravens negotiator to meet agents for Suggs, Boller

Ravens chief negotiator Pat Moriarty has flown to the West Coast and will meet with the agents for the team's two first-round draft picks by the end of the week.

The Ravens are looking to get linebacker Terrell Suggs and quarterback Kyle Boller signed before players report to training camp on July 27. Suggs and Boller said last month they expect to arrive at McDaniel College on time.

"I'm looking forward to the meeting," said Mike Sullivan, who represents Boller. "We have a chance to get things accomplished very quickly."

The likely starting point for Boller's contract is the one given in 2000 to the New York Jets' Chad Pennington, the last quarterback drafted in the middle of the first round.

Pennington, selected one spot higher than Boller at No. 18, signed a five-year, incentive-laden contract that could earn him as much as $23 million. Though the base contract is worth nearly $6.5 million, he could earn another $16 million over the life of the deal, including an additional $ 1.97 million bonus if he participates in 35 percent of the team's offensive plays in any of his first three seasons.
