The Bucs had him in this preseason & would have signed him except they got Mankins in the trade with the Pats*

He has to be better than the Guards we are playing now.

Working with *******s sucks. It's fine on short-term projects, but day in and day out for a sustained time it will kill moral and affect performance.

The guy has proven to be such a giant ******* that multiple bunches of professional football players would rather not have him around.

it's not ideal that our OL stinks, but adding a volatile piece in the middle of a rebuild seems like an odd choice for a team 1 game out of first.

if the coaches think the OL is coming along and a work in process, it's not worth jeopardizing that.

This is not a work in progress though. Pears is not a guard. Simply.

He has no power and is getting badly abused. He gets overpowered and outmaneuvered.

Richardson is a rookie so you could say that is a work in progress and Henderson also. But should we be putting that much on rookies when we are pushing for a playoff spot?

No. Thanks. Too many young lineman for him to bully.

It's not like any of the young lineman are any good, the goal is to win games and assemble more talent, bring in anyone at this point for guard - including Icognito.

Locker room chemistry means a lot more than bringing in a douche bag who's not a major upgrade over anyone already here.

Well except Incognito would be a major upgrade over who is playing Guard for the Bills now.

Don't think he'll be calling Kujo a wuss. I'd probably dare him to. :snicker:

Just plug in Urbik for now, and keep working KuJo at guard during the week.

I'd like to believe that there's a better solution for improving the OL, but being unemployed has probably been pretty humbling for Richie. If he'd make the team better I'd be ok with a vet min. 1 year deal with the understanding that there will be zero tolerance of any BS. I don't feel like he caused any problems the first time he was here.

really it depends on how much incognito has grown as a person. he was a known dick but he got treated pretty brutally considering the whole picture. some of that was deserved, some of it wasnt, but if hes responded well i could see giving him another shot. its never too late to move past old destructive patterns. any team taking that chance would have to do their diligence tho. might be too soon for political reasons anyway

I'd bring him in. It's not like he committed a crime or anything. And sounds like Martin was at least partly at fault.

As for him being a locker room cancer, no way. At this point he's been so beaten down, he won't cause any more trouble. I'm sure this amount of time away and not getting a fat check has made him change his demeanor.

If he had a lot left in the tank do you think he'd be a street free agent in week 7

Bottom line... If we improve the O-line via internal moves, pick-ups, or trades... We have a shot at the playoffs. It's as simple as that. It might be worth a little "integrity" compromise.

Attacked his own Ferrari with a baseball bat in the middle of it.

“Oh that was that was just me venting, that was self expression, that’s a piece of art,” he said. “The happiest day of my life was when I got that car and now the second happiest day will be when I donate it to charity.”

Think he had a breakdown. I'd avoid him. There's a reason everyone else is. Never donated it to charity, was in his garage under a tarp.

Just play Urbik already and that takes care of half the guard problems. At least one side of the line will be ok.

Why do you think he doesn't have a lot left in the tank? He was playing well up until he got suspended last year. And he's only 31. I think that teams are staying away from his for personal reasons, not because he can't play.

If he was anything much he wouldn't be a street free agent in week 7 though. Every team is passing on him and the league has plenty of teams taking risks on problem children.

You might if he was a relatively focused lunatic like Dobler was way back in the day.

He actually has a decent working relationship with Wood. I'm not sure if Wood really likes him or not but they seem to understand one another. If Eric could keep RI's attitude in check in the locker room a 1year deal is worth the gamble if he is in game shape.

I get the feeling that he would be a model citizen for at least the rest of this season just to get on to another team next season. However, I think it would kill him to have to be so well behaved.

It's a low risk/ high reward signing. If he acts like a choir boy we VASTLY upgrade out guards, which are far and away the worst starting two in the league right now. If he acts like a douche again, you cut his ass.

Well, Incognito is not playing in the NFL now & may never again.

He may well need the money that Ferrari brings him down the road.
