They're #1 in the league in total team sacks too with 24.

Impressive, although a little skewed since we haven't had a bye week yet.

Well they still lead all teams that have played 7 games. the Eagles lead all teams that have played 6 games with 19 sacks. So their sacks/game average is still impressive and there's a good chance they could still be #1 after their bye if they can get after Geno.

To be fair, most of us were expecting the Bills to go after a "Nathaniel Hackett" type replacement DC... not top talent.

Once Schwartz came onboard I knew we'd be fine.

4-3. 1 game out of 1st.

You must think you're real clever.

We should just shut down the forum and not have any conversation other than what the w/l record is.

To be fair, many people still expected the Bills defense would be much worse even after Schwartz was announced as DC.

I remember having a number of arguments having to support him after he was hired.

Yep. It was "he'll bring the wide-9 and ruin the defense."

And he will never blitz, it will be like Jauron all over again.

Schwartz is proof positive that hiring experienced coordinators has big benefits as opposed to Ralph's laundry list of cheap, inexperienced guys. Remember Walt Corey and Ted Marchibroda?

Schwartz is proof positive that hiring experienced coordinators has big benefits as opposed to Ralph's laundry list of cheap, inexperienced guys. Remember Walt Corey and Ted Marchibroda?I'll give you Walt Corey, but Marchibroda? He was very experienced and helped install the K-Gun. He took advantage of Kelly's strength as a Field General.

Besides, as far as I know, the coordinators are the Head Coaches hires. Of course, those coaches contracts are the realm of the Front Office.

My favorite Ralph moves are "promoting from within". Hank Bullough, Kay Stephenson and his "go to" interim coach, Harvey Johnson when Ralph pissed off the HC and they quit. Ole Harvey had exactly zero coaching experience, he was a scout.

Those hires were so absurd you thought it wasn't real and some kind of twisted Saturday Night Live skit.
